Now that Edge is available with Windows 10 and I have alternative browsers if needed to, is it safe to turn Internet Explorer 11 off in the Control Panel | Programs | Windows Features list?

Some software uses IE within a shell. For example I believe adobes contribute software is wrapped around IE, at least it used to be. So I presume that may stop working if IE was disabled. I think some inbullt  software help systems also use IE.
