I have a 2008 R2 server set up as a remote desktop server. Using IE11, HTML5 videos won't play.

Desktop Experience feature is installed, and IE ESC is disabled for both users and admins.

However it works fine if logging into the console, so only a problem over RDP.

The only suggestion I've found online is disabling IE ESC, but that is already disabled.

Anyone have any ideas?

EDIT: The server is a VMware virtual machine, in case that is relevant.

EDIT 2: The plot thickens. If I don't map audio through to the client, the video plays fine (but without sound obviously, so not a solution).
