Yeah, but probably only Thunderbolt 1, not Thunderbolt 2.

Interesting concept, with the convection assisted cooling and the focus on making the things inside work well (e.g. super fast PCIe SSD) and most of the user expansion options being outside the box... err outside the cylinder.

Hope it helps drive thunderbolt sales and development, so it becomes more affordable for the rest of us.

In some forums there are people with investment in existing PCIe cards and internal drives that aren't so pleased about it. Plus the inevitable complaints about no DVD/optical disk drive.

The part I found interesting is the twin GPUs with only 1 used for Graphics.

With GrandCentral and OpenGL and other technologies I can see the 2nd GPU being used to off load a LOT of tasks from the CPU.

The initial benchmarks I think are simply NOT showing remotely what the capabilities of this machine are.

Nice thing is, I hope to be @ 1 Infinite Loop in September, so I hope I get to play.... going as a shopper, nothing more, but hey if they want to give me a tour... I'm up for it

The photos show both the RAM and the SSD are socketed.
So I am not sure where you got this FUD from.

The main issue is the GPUs are on non standard cards (size/shape) and are never likely to be a "cheap" commodity upgrade in the future, Cheap being very relative in the arena of Graphics cards.
