Thanks to the folks at Thecus we have a Thecus N2310 NAS device to giveaway!

I have an qnap ts212 with 2x2tb WD green drives with a couple of 2tb USB HDD, the qnap is too slow for my needs though and if I turn on any of it's photo management and video management features it bites the big one.

I end up using free file sync to replicate whats on the NAS to a hard drive connected to us via USB because having it do it through it's own devices doen't seem to work.

would love a new NAS !

I have an older Drobo stuffed with drives. It's not a NAS (it's connected by Firewire) but it's better than nothing!

Here is it with a failed drive a week or two ago.

My GoFlex Home is getting rather long in the tooth and becoming increasingly unreliable. It'd be very timely for a tech-refresh.

(Stock photo used as I'm not at home right now to take a piccie, do I still qualify for double points?

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

VERY boring current solution - an external 500Mb usb drive.

The NAS would allow me easily backup all the computers at home as well as minimise my risk from 'encryption' viruses (since it wouldn't be a constantly connected drive letter).

No exciting pictures I'm afraid - it truley is that boring :)

My existing storage solution consists of a draw full of hard drives collecting dust .... obviously not connected to anything.
My live storage is just the drives in my PC.

Could really do with a NAS device to store all my more "precious" files such as family photos etc in a central location.

Not very exciting but its the reality :)

Currently just use local disk, would use the NAS to centralise files, photos, do backups etc... long overdue!!

Currently using a D-Link DNS 323. Clunky old firmware means that occasionally file permissions are changed at the whim of the device, not ideal to have to factory reset on occasion. I would hopefully be able to use a newer NAS without worrying my files might suddenly be inaccessible.

As a dreadfully lazy type, it has taken this kind of offer to finally get me to register. I'm only geeky in comparison to my friends anyway...

My backup at home is just a 1TB USB WD drive. There are also cloud options, but that's my backup regime.

For me I'd like to win so I can actually have a network storage solution currently using a WD USB3 2TB External drive as my My Docs drive holding movies, music and tv shows. So yeah have a dedicated device would be a lot of use to be able to share directly throughout the house.

my current make shift home server setup is in a sad state - an old laptop that is overheating despite every measure, with cables held together by duct tape as the connections are loose, and a couple of external HDD.

this will be an amazing upgrade!
