Not sure if this is the right forum, but I'm looking for some recommendations/suggestions as to who I should go to in the Wellington region to get an app built.

I basically want Android and iOS app versions of an existing word puzzle I make that would need to support in-app purchases of additional puzzle packs, so ideally I'd prefer people/firms with relevant experience.

I had a brief look at the websites of several Wellington developers but it's hard to get an idea if this sort of app is in someone's wheelhouse when confronted with the standard "We can do all sorts of jobs"+tech buzzwords blurb.

I've had some suggestions of overseas outfits, but I'd prefer to keep it local.

It might depend how much you are expecting to spend on having the app developed as getting a team together and building something out with testing can take quite a bit of time, especially at an hourly rate, that's why so many of the most successful early games were self built.

I know Paperkite build business apps, and there are a few game studios around that possibly can help as well. It's possibly better to find an independent and have a decent contract drawn up.

Thanks - had thought about the games studios too: it's probably because it is a project that sort of falls between the standard business and game developers that I'm having trouble figuring out who to approach.

About five years ago after a similar look around I had decided that it might be cleanest to simply figure out how to do it myself, but as I never ended up with time to properly do so, I figure I should probably just go with professionals after all.
