I have heard that too. You have to go to Australia and smuggle them back into the country.

Websites with auto populate address detail fields that then change - eg enter 123b Main Street, select the relevant address, and it gets quietly auto "corrected" to 123 Main Street... (New Balance in case anyone else is ordering from them)

Supermarkets that spend tens of thousands just to tell me via such mail that chicken legs (or 'catfood' as they are known in our house) are 20c cheaper than they were last week/month/year/decade and that sort of thing. They do it with TV adverts too - which just indicates that they must be too cheap, IMV!

A whole TV ad to tell me that I could save about $5 on a week's shopping just seems bonkers.

If you are looking to protect clothes you won't wear for sometime vacuum pack them.

Human hair (and, when that's in short supply, chicken feathers, duck feathers, cow horns, and pig bristles (and I wouldn't be surprised if it included the hair removed from cow faces before they became gelatine), is boiled down in China (in, I assume, vast stainless steel vats full of acid with little viewports) to make L-cysteine. This, incidentally, is "natural" L-cysteine, as opposed to "synthetic" L-cysteine. Commercial bakers and "restaurant" chains (e.g. McDs), put L-cysteine into bread to make it keep longer. Hairdressers in China sell their floor sweepings, which are then picked over to remove cigarette butts and suchlike.

The good news is that it's not in flour, so your local baker probably isn't putting it into their freshly-made bread products.

I suspect you've been conned:

Despite widespread belief otherwise, there is little evidence that human hair is used as a source material and its use is explicitly banned in the European Union.

OTOH, what is in a Macca's bun?

McDonald's is running Monopoly again this year, but the instant prizes are now "chance" cards that require an app.

I've finally got around to installing said app (103 megs and full of videos) and have scanned one of my cards. It told me that I'd won a prize and that I had to register to see what it is. I registered, and the prize card has now magically turned into a regular property card. Is this sort of thing even legal?

That sounds so sufficiently dodgy that it has to be a mistake - I doubt Macca's would have done it deliberately. In their business, reputation is everything.
