timmmay:
kendo: My package was delivered today ~2hrs ago signed by TUPSON, that normal? How long till I get the email?

Maybe an hour, maybe a week. Youshop isn't an express service, there's very little chance your package will arrive before Christmas.

Definitely won't arrive before Christmas. Might arrive before new years. The signature tends to be different sometimes and different between carriers. If it has been delivered today you might be lucky today otherwise next week.

I ordered two items from YouShop and paid for both of them on the 12th and 13th respectively. While the one that was paid for on the 12th got delivered to me last Thursday, the one on the 13th is still stuck on Shipping...this is the tracking information I have for the two parcels:

I'm wondering if anyone else had their item shipped on the 14th or afterwards and already have it? I really want to know if something's going wrong, and when I phone them they just keep telling me to wait. However I don't think it's normal that two parcels that have been paid for only one day apart should have this kind of difference in terms of arrival time. It's past the "6-days" expected period for the parcel to arrive in NZ. It still doesn't even say the parcel is in New Zealand...

Update: Two of my three packages have been delivered. They arrived in reverse order. The last thing I ordered arrived first. The second thing I ordered arrived second...and the first thing I ordered arrived in NZ last and was then held in Customs. I sent Customs an email after getting the "entry number" from NZ Post by phone. I received an email reply from Customs within 30 minutes outlining the charges and how to pay. I paid immediately. Hopefully I'll get my parcel in a day or two.

I also went to the Youshop site and asked if they would consider pre-payment of the GST and Customs / Bio charges. This could be handled as a contingent 'deposit'...and if it wasn't required, either held as a credit for future shipping costs or refunded.   This would likely involve a user of the service authorising them to act as our agent for Customs purposes - indemnified by the user from any liability, legal or civil, related to the contents of the parcel.

This way they could just expedite the Customs process for us - saving everyone time - and perhaps even charge a convenience fee for it. Another revenue stream.

I have a parcel in that same shipment as you, not arrived yet. I think in the early days of YouShop they only used to arrive a couple of times a week, depending on shipping. And at this time of year, I'm sure these items will be bumped from flight to flight as other more expensive shipping options receive priority. Hope it arrives today/tomorrow for Wednesday delivery.

Another revenue stream? Don't give them that idea! :P

They wouldnt need to charge if they could automate it.  The fact that they hold your dollars is a source of income!

I know, right?

But I'd pay for it. Just to avoid the aggravation of having to phone NZ Post to get the entry number and then write the email. Why don't they email me the entry number as part of the process?

There are a lot of things that could be done to tighten this up...and if all it took was some money from happy users....I'd support that. :-)

My current youshop package has an expected delivery date of 25 December... perhaps they need to take public holidays into account in their delivery estimates! Fortunately I consider youshop a "will arrive eventually" service.

I'm considering this to be a worst case delivery date, mine is in the same category. Here's hoping for the next day or two!

I used shipito for my last lot of stuff as there were some pens and cables that amazon would giant box and the lack of consolidation meant nzpost was a no go.

Worked really well except for DHL not having a good system for authority to leave.

My status just changed! Maybe it'll get delivered tomorrow. If your item is in the same shipment you should see an update soon I think.
