floydbloke:

When an online purchase from overseas gets delivered quicker than something bought from an NZ based outfit.

That happens so often you must be perpetually angry!

winkOnly when it affects me, and I don't buy much these days.

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

Behodar: To be fair, I did immediately submit a support ticket, but the whole system seems a bit "off" to me.

My new annoyance is companies that don't respond to support tickets. It's been a week!

Firms whose entire response to messing up is merely a feeble "Yeah, nah - sorry about that."

This one is not small but it gets mentioned anyway.

Companies that franchise operations like windows and buildings such as sheds, garages etc, and then when the franchisee sells his business they allow the new owner to completely ignore any issues arising from the work of the company when the previous person who owned it was in charge.

Likewise, same types of company whose head offices refuse to do anything when the franchisee messes up, blaming everything on the franchisee and accepting no responsibility despite allowing the person to trade using their brand.

I have heard a lot of variations of those since moving here.

I think the laws around franchising needs to change. If you want your name plastered around the country on as many vehicles and uniforms as possible, and make money from it, then you should take responsibility if these franchisees mess up. Do your homework better and only sell to people you trust to wear your name.

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

Keep calm, and carry on posting.

I purchased a Ghost Busters franchise; they promised that there would be plenty of ghouls, demons, etc to be caught in my franchisee area. So far it's been a big fat ZERO. frown

freitasm: Meetings.

Especially the Pointless Monday Morning Staff Meeting. I used to hate that before I worked for myself.

I do not care what anyone else is doing and I don't want to waste an hour of the day hearing about it thanks. Go off to your cubicle and and carry out your pointless drone tasks in silence please.

@geektastic Cubicle? I'd be happy if I had a cubicle.

Small thing to hate: all this new age crap of open plan offices and annoying people.

Even worse, firms who justify open plan as "encouraging teamwork' , "more efficient working" or other such BS.

It was invented as a way of saving on property occupation costs as office rents rose in expensive cities! More people per square metre, less space required ergo less rent to pay!

It has actually been shown to be LESS efficient. However, accountants are not interested in efficiency, only money....

my experience as a manager is open plan enhances productivity and makes the work place a more enjoyable place. People are not battery chickens and should not be treated as such. I have changed

many work places from batteries to open plan and morale, productivity and general office enjoyment has gone up.
