richms: I used shipito for my last lot of stuff as there were some pens and cables that amazon would giant box and the lack of consolidation meant nzpost was a no go.

Worked really well except for DHL not having a good system for authority to leave.

Check out Worldship ws1.com, they also send with DHL but do not require a signature so there is no need for an authority to leave.

Touch and go for my parcels to make it before Xmas
Arrived in the country yesterday around noon, passed though customs quickly but have not make it from Auckland to Dunedin overnight as tracking still tells me they are being sorted.

Local courier has not been delivering parcels until 6-7pm at night
I would be shocked if he was still working at that time on Xmas Eve

I would expect it today/tomorrow. At this time of the year, they should be working hard to gain all the $ they can get from this lucrative month! I think this evening delivery might put you in luck. I got mine this morning, but in AKL.

NzBeagle:
timmmay: My current youshop package has an expected delivery date of 25 December... perhaps they need to take public holidays into account in their delivery estimates! Fortunately I consider youshop a "will arrive eventually" service.

I'm considering this to be a worst case delivery date, mine is in the same category. Here's hoping for the next day or two!

I have 3 parcels with expected delivery 25th. One has just been delivered to rural Whangarei, the other 2 still sitting in "destination sort". I don't actually need these for xmas so I'm not too bothered but I'd say if you're in Auckland you should get it for xmas.

I got mine today as well, living in Auckland. I noticed that with YouShop, if the status has changed to Destination Sort, I've always received the item the next day.

Destination sort during the day should mean delivery the next day, if it's in the morning it should be that day. I think they must be trying to get everything prior Christmas. Including second deliveries, in the afternoon.

Drat; still being sorted in Auckland.
Hopefully tracking is just wrong and it does show up today

Just contacted the live chat and asked about whether a package could be repacked. It only contains one £45 women's top and postage came to $36.25. I was advised "I will have to end this chat and send a request to see if your parcel can be repacked. If it can you will have to waive your rights to a damage claim and there is a $4.50 repack fee. Please advise if you would like to waive your rights and I will email the warehouse."

Has anyone else had the same response about waiving rights to a damage claim?

They are trying to protect themselves and rightly so. As soon as someone opens the package the recipient can claim it was broken, etc if they don't want it.

^ No and no
Earliest is Saturday but that depends on the courier driver.

My re-packed item arrived today
In a plastic bag similar to those sold in the post office. Would have preferred a box as the contents is sensitive to corner damage and was.
Will have to email customer service and let them know

But it's weird that you have no say over whether something is automatically repacked by them and in that case there is no issue with waiving your rights in the case of damage - but when you asked for it to be repacked they don't want liability.

I am trying to work out if a lens as arrived properly at YouShop, according to UPS it arrived on the 12th of December. (a Friday)

But when I look at my parcels in the warehouse, it isn't there yet! However there is an item which YouShop says arrived on the 14th (a Sunday), might this be it? Is it normal for there to be such a delay between the time UPS records and the time YouShop records?

Yes, I've had delays between US courier tracking 'delivery' and youshop tracking 'arrived at the warehouse' of a few days
