For a start, Tom Cruise isn't in it, so it's already easily 10 times better.

And it comes from the pedigree of District 9. So there's that.

Blackfish 9/10

This is one of the Film Festival movies, and to be honest I wasn't sure what to expect....
Wow - It's a total eye opener, especially if you have experienced the Seaworld shows first hand.

I ended up feeling sorry for the Orca, and not the injured / killed trainers.

Wouldn't pay to own a Apple product won't be paying to see a movie about Steve Jobs either (or watching it for free either). Please note I do still think the guy was a genius but really a movie about his life couldn't see me more uninterested.

Just saw The Wolverine and unless you love seeing Hugh Jackman's biceps on the big screen I advise you save your money. I can't even really say it was a turn your brain off action flick as both me and my mate walked out with questions on our minds which neither of us could answer. The character development was practically non-existent and the chemistry between any of the characters was just awful to be blunt. This movie makes The Last Stand look good. 3/10

P.S. If you do go and see it wait for the mid-credits scene as it's honestly the best part of the whole movie.

Saw Elysium. Waaay better than Oblivion.
Good story. Good special effects. 7/10.
Matt Damon is good as usual and Sharlto Copley was awesome.
Jodie Fosters accent was a bit weird, but she played a good part too.

The Silver Linings Playbook 10/10

Absolutely brilliant. Bradley Cooper is fantastic.

Mud 9/10

Matt Mc deserves at least an Oscar nod for this.

Films from The Festival that I saw.

Cheap Thrills - 7/10
Entertaining enough black comedy, probing the question of what desperate people would do for money, had some good laughs throughout.

Omar - 8/10
quite captivating thriller set in the West Bank, the interaction between the characters was excellent and it was beautifully shot, it seemed almost like a snapshot of what life is like there.

Mud - 8/10

Great movie, some good laughs while being a relatively serious film about change and growing up.

Much Ado About Nothing 10/10

Filmed around Joss Whedon's home with a group of his friends done on a very low budget in Black & White.
I don't think I've laughed as much or heard as many people laugh during a film than this. Impeccable comic timing from Alexis Denisoff and Amy Acker as the lead's, The supporting cast more than held their own though. I'll be buying this when it gets a retail release just to share with others.

20 Feet from Stardom 7/10

I'm not a huge documentary fan but this was excellent entertainment and showed off some truly beautiful voices along the way.

Only Lovers left alive 7.5/10

Very slow moving romance film about a pair of Vampires who have been in love for centuries, some excellent subtle humour throughout. A contemplative film.

I watched We're the Millers today, and it's one of the funniest comedies in 2013. Even surpasses Hangover 3. I recommend it.
8.5/10

About to have a Kevin Smith marathon. Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, Jersey Girl, Clerks 2, Cop Out (maybe) & Red State. I have a long weekend.
