Methylated spirits
That annoys me, as it hasn't been methylated in NZ for decades, so strictly speaking, it's all mislabelled.
Don't care it still works, they can call it Cleany Mc Cleany stuff if they want
Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.
You may find that isopropyl alcohol is a better general cleaner anyway, slightly higher MW and so less polar, it's a bit better at cutting through grease. The standard grade that most of the repackers were buying in NZ was 99.9% (sometimes it may be lower - so check, as most of the impurity was water). Available - but a little expensive - in 1 litre bottles at hardware stores. Subject to potential abuse - drug extraction/manufacture.
I'm not sure if "white meths" is pure - it's probably still got Bitrex / denatonium benzoate in it, which may leave residues - even though there's no dye.
Couriers who don't deliver and instead give your parcel a van ride for the whole day ("Onboard for delivery" at 8.02am) and who knows where it is spending the long weekend!
And you live in Upper Riccarton, Christchurch and not some obscure rural location.
And the Courier Office have closed early obviously they wanted an extra long weekend!
Or another Courier Company show a parcel was picked up 2 days ago and nothing else yet it was meant to be delivered today!
And they respond hours ago that they are looking into it - then NOTHING!
And you needed the items today!
Who do they think is paying for their services? It is NOT the sender.
Yes - I'm annoyed!
richms:Had the sticky crap happen with the sold tape at the warehouse on a gift once.
Took it back once I got home and went to wrap it and saw the tape on it.
Must have missed them putting it on as I always tell them not to bother and they say it's policy and I say well I dont want it then and then they let me have it without the stupid tape.
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.
^^^ you can't refuse delivery if they dump it on your doorstep.
That's something that annoys me: when I opened the front door this morning there was a package there for me containing something of value.
Websites that have a list on the side to filter by, but its not ajax so every time you tick one, you have to wait for the page to load before you can tick another one. Same for sort options and number of items per page. Have to set the number to max, and then wait for it to load so I can then sort by price for example.
This should all be done by ajax or whatever the new buzzword for it is and not result in entire page loads thesedays.

Its been called meths on the bottle for a very long time, and says ethonol solution below that. Problem is with that crap the purple and other stuff remains when you clean things. Used to be able to get it from the 20l ethonol bottle at last work which was great for cleaning, but not working there now and cant seem to get 1l of ethonol solution and 20 would evaporate before I was done with it.
White Methylated spirits
Why? Does it not taste as good? ![]()

Courier services seem bizarrely incompetent for some reason.
US services will tell you which bin in which warehouse, which vehicle, when it was transferred and deliver it Saturday, Sunday, in the evening or whatever.
NZ? I've had so many parcels which show as "We have no information yet. Try again later." in tracking yet are delivered shortly thereafter, or ones that go astray that "we have to put a trace on" because their systems do not seem to keep track of things in real time, etc.
As for weekend deliveries, evening deliveries. Pfft. Forget that. You're just the customer.

Use of the inelegant "Death Notices" instead of "Obituaries".

Having to buy PC games as physical discs from retail stores. Why don't they offer just activation cards so i can download from home?
eg, the latest BF1 game is 5 discs. I suppose I could have tried to activate then download but the install process steers you to install from the disc -- which takes much longer than downloading.
How times have changed .
[edit] and the reason i buy from a store is because the online steam / origin price is MUCH higher than buying physical discs. What a twisted situation, why do game makers even use brick/mortar to distribute? Because not everyone has fast internet of course but why?

Even worse, if such notice uses euphemisms such as "after brave battle", certain desperados are very likely to have a go at raiding the house of the deceased in the hope of finding leftover supplies of morphine sulphate tablets/syrup, while everybody is at the funeral. They'll tend to clear out anything else of value they can find during their visit.

Try using the US steam store instead. Much cheaper normally.
Also I have allways just done the add a game thing in steam and put the code in. Dont even have anything to put obsolete round shiny trinkets into on any PC except an antique dell laptop that I use to read the silly discs that come with chinese hardware that never give you download links.
