Just found this thread on here now. Parcel shipped via DPD.  Amazon had no idea who would deliver it, nothing on DPD website for NZ.  So it's fastway stating 'could not find address' although they delivered a book from Amazon to the same address a couple of months ago.  Grr.  Mrs ZollyMonsta is most displeased too.

I should add.. Cannot track Amazon number on the DPD website itself, which isn't helpful. :)

"Could not find address" is a red herring. They'll show up in 2-3 days with the parcel. Even Fastway's own tracking is inaccurate, but the Amazon tracking is wrong.

I'm fairly unimpressed with Amazon at the moment:

 - Kindle ordered 23th Nov, with guaranteed delivery by 12th Dec.

 - DPD loses package. Amazon only admit it's lost on 13th December

 - Amazon creates a new order for a Kindle on the 13th, with highest priority shipping

 - Kindle ships on the 18th, five days later, on UPS

 - Kindle most likely to arrive after Christmas according to UPS

First world problem, but the Amazon customer service has fallen well short this time.

I can't do bullet points sorry, the GZ editor isn't working for at the moment.

How do you like this DPD tracking? This is the entire tracking history. Notice a bit of a gap?

Monday, December 23: Delivered to safe place
Friday, December 6: Package arrived at a carrier facility
Monday, November 25: Package has shipped

About 14th Dec Amazon declared it lost and shipped me another Kindle, maximum speed. The UPS shipping for that shows about 25 entries on the way here. It still took 10 days to arrive, including 4 days to be shipped and 6 days to get to NZ, which I guess isn't bad for before Xmas. They have agreed to avoid using DPD for me in future.

Both kindles arrived on the same day. I opened the first one, which after some time on chat Amazon told me had been deactivated when it was marked lost. No, they couldn't re-activate it and have me return the other kindle which was still in the box. It had to be thrown out.

So I opened the second kindle, and it had some marks that meant it needed to be returned. After another hour on chat they decided they could deactivate the second kindle and activate the first. Stupid procedures, if they'd decided that originally they'd have gotten a new, in box kindle back.

All in all it's taken me about 6 hours of effort on chat to get a new kindle, which should be simple. Amazon customer service has been frustrating and way below what I thought their standards were. Unfortunately they're still the easiest and most reliable large internet based store.

Incidentally, one small typo turns "paperwhite" into "papersh1te" ;)

Anyone had anything through amazon aus ? I wondered if the shipping costs would be a tad lower but everything I have looked at won’t even ship to nz...

Since the new import taxes have been applied it’s making everything a lot more expensive...

Thank you to the OP!!

Missus has been struggling for a day or three to figure out what or who the hell "DPD" are and where her Amazon parcels were after she got an "undeliverable" email from Amazon. Because of this thread... and particularly this post on page 1:

TechnoGuy001:

My last 2 parcels that arrived here from Amazon were from DPD, both arrived a day early, just lucky I guess.

Also, this is probably way too late, but you can track the DPD package using wndirect, and select Order Reference and put in your "AW000******" tracking code.

http://wndirect.com/tracking.php?type=OR&

Then look for the "Carrier Reference" code "WNM0********" and track that with Fastway.

http://www.fastway.co.nz/track/track-your-parcel?l=

We were finally able to track down the parcel by putting the "Amazon Logistics" ("AW000xxxxxx") tracking code into the wndirect.com/tracking.php site and it correctly identified the carrier as Fastways (and even provides a link direct to Fastways tracking)... For the record, Fastways has now rebranded to "Amarex"... but their drivers are still sh*t and seem to refuse to deliver to apartments, marking consignments as undeliverable instead of using the intercom at the front door like the other couriers do. Supposedly they left a "card to call"... but we got nothing. Not to mention the missus was at home ALL day on Friday, no phone calls, no intercom call etc. Which is pretty much par for the course for Fastways... they're terrible 😑

This is a screenshot from the wndirect.com... the tracking is a LOT better than you'll see on the Amazon "Your Order" page!

NOTE: when it says "delivered", they actually mean... "customer drove all the way to Penrose depot to get it because the driver is useless" πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„

Well, here we go again but this time, it is slightly different. Worse even.

DPD refused to accept a package and said that it was undeliverable. The package never actually left amazon.

OK, we have seen that before but what is different this time?

No refund.

Seems that amazon expects to keep the money.

Their online assistant will not help and there is no pending refund listed for my account.

You just click through and say you have a different problem until you get a person. Only took me 30 seconds last night to do that, their customer service is always good. If it doesn't work dispute the charge with your bank.

I tried that but I just came to a dead end and couldn't reach a person.

A chargeback is my next step but of course, there is a limit to the number of those that you can make before the card issuer restricts your card.

I kept at it and finally got in touch with a person.

She confirmed that there was no refund in progress and further suggested that their system would not auto-generate one. She did however say that she was putting a refund into the system and I then got an email saying that a refund was on the way.

Sorry to drag up an old post but issues still exist with DPD in 2025. I've tried the WNdirect/Ascendia tracking link but no information. The contact us link is dead. My package has the following last tracking on Amazon:

Monday, 6 January
1:49 AM
Package departed an Amazon facility
Buena Park, CALIFORNIA US

I tried a bunch of different carriers then tried USPS:

Moving Through Network
Processing at USPS Facility
WHITTIER, CA 90601
January 6, 2025, 9:58 am

I've not had any tracking updates since. Amazon have been no help to the point they have no idea that it was even handed over to USPS, I had to work that out for myself. Just about given up at this point, only a $500 value package.

Did you try track it via https://parcelsapp.com ?

They're one of the better ones I've found that seems to do ok job at tracking.

But Amazon is usually pretty good about making the customer whole if you don't get the parcel or it's damaged etc. (unless it's not something Amazon shipped, e.g. a 3rd party)

If your item says "Ships from Amazon", then they'll refund you if it gets lost. If a 3rd party it might be more tricky.

In your case, you'll probably need to wait till it's past the ETA before anyone does anything.

Thanks. Yeah, I've tried ParcelApp but nothing comes up at all. Only a few days till I can seek a refund, fulfilled by Amazon US so they'll make good. Problem is it was a Boxing Day sale item at a significant discount and now out of stock. PIA.

Aaah, yeah that's a pain.

Not that it helps you, but I had something arrive last week, which shipped early last November, so some lost stuff does resurface sometimes.

I had one last week and wnDirect did the trick... but Amazon's own tracking was already showing it as in NZ by that point. It seems you can use wn to get the local Aramex tracking details, but it's perhaps of limited use before that.

Out of curiosity, does anyone else's AW tracking number show any tracking info from USPS?
