If customer service were telling people that the code ended on the 5th pretty sure they were wrong. As mentioned, 5th was the original end date published on most of the original official mentions of the code, but Twitter says it was extended and ended on the 7th https://twitter.com/nzpostYouShop/status/673615404409974784 .

Personally I don't really see anything wrong with the packages taking a bit longer to deliver at this time of the year. It's not like this is unique to NZ Post and as has been said, Youshop has never been sold as a super high speed service and they do tend to be cheaper than shiptoyou's USPS (depending on size and weight of the package) which has similar delivery time frames anyway. Most higher speed services are a fair amount more again depending on the exact parcel size and weight. Ship2u is cheaper, but also I don't think faster. Particularly since it sounds like they only have a shipment a week.

While paying by the 5th to try and guarantee a delivery may seem a little early, those dates tend to be earlier then they need to, to avoid complaints due to unexpected delays. Especially since they only have limited control over earlier parts of the chain (the Singapore Post run warehouse and the I presume somewhat low priority freight service they're using to fly stuff here and part of the Biosecurity & Customs checks too). And remember it's a single date, so I'm pretty sure is expected to apply to packages sent to rural delivery addresses on the West Coast (which I would guess take 2 or 3 days more) as they do to Auckland. It's also a single date for all 3 warehouses, so would be whichever is slowest. Probably China at this time of the year. From reports so far, it seems like a package paid for by the 11th or probably even later, is very likely to arrive. They simply don't want to deal with endless complaint if they don't.

My only personal complaint is 5th being the final mailing date for Christmas deliveries doesn't have to mean that the code ended then. I know last year their Black Friday code went past the final mailing date. If the problem is they found a lot of people seem to think using the code meant they should get a Christmas delivery, they could always have made a SORRYYOUMISSEDXMAS10 code to replace the LOVEFROMYOUSHOP10 code.

Well, to be fair - to ensure everything we wanted from overseas arrived here on time we ordered all overseas Christmas stuff on early November. Some direct (where possible) some via YouShop. The latest was my Withings that wasn't on sale until late and I bought on impulse - and even that arrived here today.

I remember a few years back buying some stuff from Amazon on early December, sending direct to NZ and not getting that until mid-January...

China deliverys are all so much better this year. Just had the one straggler item from the 11/11 sale arrive today. Chasing up with 2 sellers who I think didnt ship and gave BS tracking numbers since they dont track anywhere.

Amazon deliveries are a lot better this year. China seems to be improving a bit (but annoying that they all use signature required, which is a trip to the post office). Youshop has never been an express service, so long as that's kept in mind it's fine.

The reason stuff from china is sig required is that there is no tracked but non signature service available to them.

I have PO Box so its a trip there anyway, but at least I get emailed now if there is something waiting. But after the 11/11 sale and a few things since then it has been an every day thing.

I was hit by the dreaded "let's send it in a very big box" problem. Price for shipping is going to cost more than the item! And it was direct from a company store, so no free returns or anything.

I think I've managed to convince Youshop to repackage, but I'm going to have to waive damage compensation because they have to remove packaging material :-( Fortunately it's not something that is that likely to be damaged, unless they play football and rugby with it. Just have to also hope they don't see it has alkaline button batteries and freak out. Definitely not going to get this before Christmas so might as well wait and see whether they have a Boxing day code I think.

Was fairly stupid of me, if I'd looked at the dimensions of even the item boxes, I should have realised volumetric was likely to be significantly more than weight without being sent in a big box. And I didn't even need to look to figure that it's gotta be well over 500g. So even if I had made the 10% Youshop coupon, ship2u was almost definitely going to be better price due to their more generous 6000 divider for volumetric. And since this is just a company store with no operations in California there was no sales tax. Plus if I'd checked UPS ground shipping times, would have realised unlikely to make the 5th.

Oh well live and learn....

I avoid youshop because I read on their website they don't offer repackaging.  Is this a one off you managed to beg out of them?  Or a sign of a general service you need to ask for?

Anyone used YouShop to bring in Anker or AmazonBasics portable battery packs?

Having issues getting to the NZ Post website to see what the rules are around batteries...

They don't, but sometimes they will depending on who you ask there.

I got a choetech off aliexpress. Quick charge 2.0 which is great on the note 4 and seems to live up to its claimed capacity. I have bought lipo containing stuff over on shipito and then fedex before, no dramas but the fedex is more expensive than DHL by a bit. They have a limit of 2 per package but are not that clear about what counts as 1 so just be careful how you declare it, since if you put 2 on each item and then combine it, then it becomes 4. But they still shipped it so who knows?

Purchased a pair of Raybans on Amazon, and had them sent through Youshop.
Received the package tonight. No sunglasses were present.
As Youshop inspect the contents of each package upon arrival to the warehouse, I am left to believe that Youshop is responsible for the disappearance of my sunglasses.
What is the best method of resolving this situation with Youshop/NZ Post?

I received my youshop parcel today, which I confirmed on the 6th December. I had them consolidate four packages into one, but they've only send two of them. Half of my parcels are somewhere... who knows where. I sent an inquiry through via the youshop contact form, just venting really. At least my wife's Christmas present arrived, the things that didn't are less urgent.

Well they have told me 30th for my Parcel which was shipped yesterday. I am still hoping against hope they are being cautious and there is still a chance of delivery prior to xmas. If not too bad, but it's always nice to have toys for xmas!

Nope, not a chance sorry. The predicated date on the youshop page was accurate for me... at least for half my package.
