I'm currently using YouPost for the very first time. I just want to know I'm doing this right:
I purchased 3 Kindles on Cyber Weekend plus 2 covers and a dress for my wife. 6 items total, they were shipped in two lots to the YouShop address.
I'm being quoted $23 + $23 9 to 14 days delivery ($46 total). Total volumetric weight is 3.43kgs. Consolidation will cost $2.50 more than sending separately? That makes no sense to me but ok.
Consolidation into two packages is possibly why it's costing more. I'd try to get them shipped together. If you want for Christmas don't use economy option, even regular there's no guarantee.

Apparently there's a $6 high value surcharge overall within the $46.
If they arrive close together customs may charge as if they were one parcel. Happened to me a few years ago, two SSDs came in a week apart and I had to pay GST and import fee for the combined total of both. Send one immediately, best leave the other a couple of weeks. Don't have both in transit at the same time.

I've gone ahead and consolidated into one parcel. The total value is $177USD. Can't see any issues arising with GST.
That price is fine, no need to ship separately or to others. I thought it was higher value.
Well I just got caught my Youshop's arcane shipping policies. Thought I had got a bargain by buying a refurbished BT Plantronics headset from Ebay for $39 versus about $80 new and sent to Youshop. But because the BT headset has a Lithium battery (pretty small I would guess) and is not in retail packing they refused to send it and I had to pay US$10 to send it back to a US address for a friend to mail it to me. The USPS are not so picky but I didn't want bother my friend given that the Youshop cost would be about NZ$14.
I recall I had a camera shipped to me a while ago but it was new and so that came through. And then recently I had a laptop computer shipped which was refurbished and they shipped that also so their policies are somewhat uneven.

When I had a camera shipped back I asked Youshop support and they said so long as the item was in sealed retail packing, it could be shipped, even with a Lithium battery. I subsequently had a laptop computer shipped from Amazon (manufacturer refurbished) and that came okay. But the headset was I guess in generic refurbished packing and Youshop thought that it was dangerous goods!

Parcel shipped from Amazon 22nd NZ Time, arrived to Youshop 2 days later was paid for within 10 minutes and arrived here today 4th of Jan. Cost $22.
I have just ordered a HDD from Amazon direct, shipped 2nd on the cheapest $7 shipping, will be interesting to see how long it takes to arrive.

I find usually a little before the estimated arrival time, maybe 1-3 days.

Estimates 18th Jan, I'd be incredibly surprised if it took that long. I am expecting Monday/Tuesday next week based on prior experiences.
