freitasm: So are you posting because you agree with the source, or because you disagree with the source?

I disagree with the bill/law, if thats in fact what it plans to do.

So you should read the bill instead of relying on the opinion of some biased web site.

A few of the headlines on the bill say it all, just one of them reads: "Food control plans". Its all about power and control. Have you read the bill? I have.

What law is not about power and control? Tell us something new. Unless the "theory" here is that some "unknown power" is behind the bill?

Are you implying collusion? Corruption? Otherwise is not much of a "conspiracy theory", the subject of this thread?

I'm implying that the bill (while not all bad) may be passed for all the wrong reasons. The legal equivalent of putting sprinkles on dog poop. It looks nice at first glance but is still dog poop (also just got censored for using the s word, lol).

But what's the conspiracy theory here? Surely we all know there are "bad laws". Give us something to work on, please!

The conspiracy is a plot to remove peoples rights to grow and trade their own food/seeds/etc.

But a plot by whom? Who would benefit of such a "project"?

Not the government (at least directly). Unless you also say this "entity" is in cahoots with the government, surely?

It mentioned about things having to be registered and that that registration could be denied at any moment. This can be easily abused.

You still have not told us what's the conspiracy here. What entity would benefit of this happening? Why is this a conspiracy?

You are not talking clearly there (like many conspiracy theorists)...

Monsanto, for one, could benefit if the government decided that once the law was passed that Monsanto was the only company that was allowed to distribute seeds.

But surely the government wouldn't do it just for doing it. Are you implying Monsanto is paying someone at one of the parties to ensure this is approved?

Are you accusing some organisation of corruption?

The government has been known to, in the past, pass laws and disguise them under the names of some thing else. Just think back a year or so to when they passed that new Copyright law under urgency along with a number of other  Christchurch Earthquake related laws.

You are still not saying what's your theory. You have not connected the dots. "Urgency" is not relevant here as evidence of a conspiracy behind the food bill.

OK, my theory is that if this bill is passed that the government will use it as a means to control seeds that are available and increase dependance on the government and corporations for food, among other things.

Maybe a conspiracy to force people into using GMO seeds/food?
