Making a baby can be fairly active and sporty - especially if that's your thing - horizontal folk-dancing.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Catching a newborn isn't easy, let alone dropkicking them over the crossbar.

This one is from RNZ news website:

“Sperm concentration was close to 100 million per millilitre, but now it's dropped to 47," Swan said.

That is indeed a very large drop.

"... after glitch takes down internet". I think we probably would've noticed if the Internet was down!

I wonder which journalist actually read the forecast.

Housing is a key topic of interest for all and sundry. In the wake of the Government’s tax changes that target investors, we expect house price growth to cool off much more rapidly than it was set to. But we don’t envisage any price falls of any significance – the market’s foundations remain solid.

Stuff's interpretation is more accurate of that summary; "growth to cool off much more rapidly" does not equal "drop".

RNZ news website says:

Higher costs and slower house prices growth ahead - ASB Bank

Slowing house prices, rising inflation pressures, and sooner-than-expected rises in interest rates will be prominent in the near-term economic outlook, according to ASB Bank.

Was the RNZ headline you quote on the radio?

Not a headline, but today's Stuff quiz.

Which of these has the correct spelling?

Asterisk
Asterix
Assterisk
Astericks

Well, two of them are correct. The first if you mean the punctuation mark, and the second if you're talking about the cartoon character. I assumed the former so clicked Asterisk and got it wrong, because it wanted Asterix.

Lol, next quiz will have the question, I'm thinking of a number between one and a hundred. What is it?

And they've done it again with today's asking how many Addams Family children there were. Wednesday, Pugsley and Pubert (in the "Values" movie) apparently total two.

From Stuff:

“A settlement for Southern Response earthquake insurance policyholders could cost the Government $313 million if all of those eligible apply.”

It’s not going to cost “the government” anything at all. It’s going to cost those of us who pay net taxes. This sort of inaccuracy simply encourages wrong thinking about public expenditure.

I know. In the same vein, I want a new bike but it's going to cost my employer a packet. 😜
