A short story about my current phone:

I have a Meizu. I love my Meizu although it is starting to show it's age a little. It has even survived living in the tropics and being my only connection with the outside world for four months

People look at its name and get very puzzled because they've never heard of Meizu. They say Mee Zoo although to anyone from China (where the brand is from) it said May Zhu.

The End

PS: a picture

<- don't ask me where I am - I haven't a clue: its a tech thing ;)
Housewife computerer: not particularly great at either.
And don't take me too seriously.

So I am sitting and looking at the Geekzone site
And to my surprise, a competition I sight
Two Nokia's up for grabs that's damn good
Enter this competition, I think I should

The Geekzone admin wants to know
What phone we are replacing
I type, a Meizu M3 Note - Yo
It's an OK phone, but this is the thing

Android 5.1 is what it is running
The Oreo update I don't see it coming
I'm afraid my phone might be left in the dark
and then I might not be able to use it on
Skinny, Vodafone, 2degrees or Spark

So now I have entered for a new phone
On the mighty site called Geekzone
To replace my M3 Note would be great
And then for Oreo, I would never have to wait

I've been using a Vodafone Smart N8.  When I got it I thought the fingerprint sensor was a great thing.  Soon after I discovered that every time I picked the phone up I'd press it, the phone would vibrate and I'd look at it.  It's like I'm teaching myself a Pavlovian response.  I can't justify buying a new phone, so a free one would work out nice.

We are currently in France on a seven-week Home Exchange. Our elderly French exchange partners have lent us this ancient and diminutive Nokia 2610 to use while we’re here. It works OK but wouldn’t want to use it on an ongoing basis.

The trusty Nexus 4 is found hiding in its natural habitat. Getting a bit long in the tooth it sometimes has troubles with certain areas of its touchscreen. Not long for this world it awaits it's successor the mighty Nokia 7 Plus. Only one will reign supreme and be able to provide for its herd in the coming years.

Our Huawei Y300 from Telecom used to have Jelly Bean 4.1 but I 'installed' SlimKat 4.4.4 to allow many apps to work that require Kitkat or better

Here is the gsmarena comparison of the Nokia 6.1, 7 plus and the venerable Huawei Ascent Y300

Eeny meeny miny mesel,

Catch a cell phone by the Bezel,

If it's dead, let it go,

Oh NO, not the Nokia 6210!

Nokia 6110, 6210, 6234, Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1, Huawei Ideos X5 (Windows Mobile), Samsung Galaxy SIII, LG G4, OnePlus 5, iPhone Xs Max (briefly), S21 Ultra. And I thought I hadn't had many phones - but the first one around 1997.

Going to miss my S8 when I have to give it back.

Reverting to an S5 guess that will be better than the S3 that won't hold a charge.

Would love another Nokia with the latest software.

Would love to have a new Nokia phone. Currently my everyday phone is a Microsoft Lumia and it's reaching the end of its useful life...

Here's my wife's broken Nokia 5 which we need to replace. Loving the new Nokia's with Android One so be great to get one for her. And yes that's my old Lumia 950XL in the reflection, which she's currently using, and needless to say, as great as the phone was, its not a viable option these days...
