Finally soldiered my way through the final seasons of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. a couple of weeks ago (should have saved them for now I guess). It was a bit of a struggle as the stories became more and more ludicrous and diverged further from the MCU while sticking to the standard AoS season formula. The ‘woke’ was also strong with this one by the end. Disney’s influence I guess.

I only managed to get through the first three seasons...I am keen to watch the rest but have heard similar feedback to yours, which is mildly off-putting.

I see the second season of Five Bedrooms has gone live on Neon. I really enjoyed the first season, so this might hold me back from cancelling my Neon subscription for a while.

Thanks for letting me know, that is excellent news, the first season was really awesome.

I like AU dramas for some reason, going back to Blue Heelers and Water Rats.

Geektastic: Still bingeing The X Files all the way through.

Still great!

I was testing the Samsung Neo QLED 65" so started watching The X Files again - halfway through season 4.

Watched it originally on TV when first released, then bought the DVDs in the early 2000s. Watching for the third time.

Great show.

Senecio:

Call My Agent (Netflix)

A French comedy set in a talent agency, quite enjoyable.

Brilliant series. They are making a new season and a movie.

Watched the first seasons with daughter but I stopped from season 5... She went all the way and thought it was great - me? Not so much.

The White Lotus on Neon. Comedy - excellent IMO. If you’re not keen at first, give it time to breathe - gets better.

I watched a lot of it 'second hand' because it was a show my husband liked. I couldn’t believe how much crazier/away from premise it continued to get and remain on air.

Zomboat! on TVNZ on demand - Black comedy about a zombie apocalypse breaking out in Birmingham.

Two sisters wake up to a Zombie outbreak and take off in a canal boat.

It's actually a black comedy which made me laugh out loud (some black comedies seem lacking any comedy at all) and the Zombie breakout does seem somewhat appropriate to the latest Covid breakout.

Just watched the eight Episodes of Defeated on Netflix  9/10
Police officer Max McLoughlin arrives in Berlin in 1946 to establish a new police force in the wake of the war, and hopes to find his brother who is presumed dead.

Very enjoyable series with great production values and acting. Characters have depth and you get a real feeling of a city where it is tough to survive.
Interesting plots and drama/mystery.

Also working my way thorough Bordertown on Netflix.  8/10

Police Procedural set in Finland near the border of Russian (Finnish TV series)

The main character is a detective to is a high-functioning autist (sort of sherlock Holmes) who movies to a smaller quieter town to spend more time with hos family.
Obviously it is not quiet or there would be no show - he gets to solve murders :)

Interesting plots and characters again, not quite Nordic Noir to me, but close and well worth watching

Just finished Season 7 of Brooklyn 99. It really is quite funny/amusing. It offered me season 1 again which I started and I can't recall any of the first 5 episodes I've watched at all. I am wondering if someone I started later in the seasons.

This is my older son's favourite programme so is compulsory viewing in our household.

Season eight (the final season, I believe) started recently and is being released two episodes per week. The first four (out of 10?) have been released, and I'd say so far it's been mixed - episode three was great, whereas four was pretty pedestrian.

I don't think it's that. Usually, I'd have an inkling, but I don't recognize any of the characters in the form they take in season 1. The same actors, no question, just they have developed a lot over time.

The feeling I am getting is that I probably wouldn't have watched it beyond ep 5 if I was watching it for the first time.

/me shrugs.
