Tramadol is no good for me. It freaked me out and didn't seem to alleviate the pain from a slipped disc in my lower back. I went back to just Panadol and put up with the pain.

If I take tramadol, I get vividly real dreams.   The nightmares are horrifyingly realistic and difficult to shake off after waking.  On the upside, the good dreams are very good and equally vivid.

Tramadol deals with pain differently to the like of Panadol. Panadol blacks the pain signals reaching the pain receptors in the brain and as such starts to relieve pain after circa 20 minutes. Tramadol changes the way pain is interpreted by the brain and takes a long time to achieve this. Tramadol is very good for chronic moderate to severe pain and is intended for extended use. Panadol is intended for short term use with non chronic pain. Tramadol can take a few days to reach effectiveness.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

E-scooter on the motorway. Last night on the way home at about 7:45 on the northbound motorway through St Mary's Bay heading towards the bridge was one of those Hungry Panda chaps on a scooter, decked out in his hi-viz gear, riding as close to the left as he could. I don't understand how he made his way onto the motorway but it could've been fatal, especially with how little attention some people pay while driving. I guess he left the motorway at Curran St. Absolutely stupid in any case.

Its them blindly following what an app says to do. I saw one almost get on the motorway going northwest/north at the grafton onramp once. I was going much faster so don't know if they did make it on or not, but they were a decent distance up the onramp towards where it joins with the feed from the port when I lost sight of them.

Blindly following an app is pretty stupid. I figure he must have got on the motorway at Fanshawe St. Common sense should have sounded an alarm bell for him and if common sense didn't work, the motorway sign should have sounded an alarm bell.

Don't underestimate stupidity. A friend of mine lives in the first house on the right-hand side of a road. The traffic island at the intersection extends ever-so-slightly past the start of her driveway so you need to turn at about a 91° angle. Fine for a driver using their brain, but some navigation apps insist on going up the road to the next roundabout and then turning around. It is 6.7 km to the roundabout.

One time she was watching the delivery guy on the map, and saw him drive right past. She immediately rang him - and could see him pull over from her window - and explained that he'd passed her house. He said he understood... and proceeded to ignore her and continue to follow his app as it sent him on the 13.4 km return trip to the roundabout and back. He then had the gall to complain about wasted time and fuel when he finally arrived.

Surely this has to be using navigation set for cars, where setting it up for a cyclist would be closer to what's required? A few tests I've done with Google Maps navigation have kept directions when set for cycling away from motorways. Of course, chances are nothing will be done to educate people until people are injured or killed while riding a scooter on a motorway.

Quoted $2,800 for root canal and that’s without a crown. $450 to extract. No guarantees.

Exactly what I was thinking. Fares are too pricey at present though and when you are in pain, you just have to suck it up.

Hope it’s not a bad dose and you get over it easy. Take it easy, rest is a requirement not an option.

Thailand is the most common for dental tourism. Starts at $1200 root canal + crown.

Bangkok is by far the most popular city for dental tourism.

Note you'll have to hang around. Make sure you ask about time between crown fitting and root canal.

Make sure to ask if they have in‑house CAD/CAM and will do same‑day crowns.

Zirconia costs $750 instead of $400 porcelain‑fused‑to‑metal (PFM). It is the most durable and natural‑looking option. This would be an outrageously expensive option in NZ, but doable in Thailand.

You might consider a trip to Japan, if you're looking for the highest quality dental work, with the best materials.

With the added bonus that the yen is weaker than ever.

Kyoto is an absolute gem. Tokyo is very safe and pleasant also. I'd recommend staying in someone house, or university dorms during one of their breaks. The Japanese love having a chance to practice English.

Bonus: high tech toilets!

Problem with dental tourism is insurance won’t cover you if anything goes wrong AFAIK. They specifically ask if you are going for any medical procedure. By the time you factor in fares and accommodation it would only be worth it if getting a few implants that are horrendously priced here.

I travelled in Poland some years back when fillings in NZ were around $100. I got an emergency filling for 5 euros, was shocked. No idea if it’s still cheaper there. Some of the newer entrants to the EU in Eastern Europe are also very reasonable. For now am planning to help fund someone’s Ferrari here.
