In today’s NZHerald an article about EVs (specifically Teslas) being vandalised in NZ.

One vandal is so overwrought by MDS that he misidentifies a Polestar 2 (thinking it’s a Tesla) and spray paints it. All caught on security camera, so will be an easy get for the Police.

I wonder what his defence will be? Social media told me to do it…….

MDS is a metastatized version of TDS, where people half a world away are affected by social media.

My “What The..” point is he’s so engaged, he can’t even identify his target properly.

According to media reports, the Federal Intelligence Service (BND) assumes (probability 80-95%) that the coronavirus spread after an accident in a Chinese laboratory. Risky experiments and breaches of safety regulations are said to have taken place in Wuhan. This was based on public data and material that had been obtained as part of an intelligence operation, for example from Chinese research institutions.

„According to the ‘Neue Zürcher Zeitung’, a research group commissioned by the Chancellery has been working on the BND findings since December. According to the report, there are numerous indications of a laboratory origin. Some researchers believe that the probability of a man-made pandemic is steadily increasing, but not everyone is equally convinced.
The origin of the novel coronavirus has been discussed since the 2019 pandemic outbreak. In addition to the laboratory theory, there has always been discussion that the virus could have been transmitted to humans from wild animals.“

20 million deaths worldwide.

This is a masterpiece of how not to handle a bad review.

The owner of Australian DCS should have the words "Streisand effect" tattooed backwards on his forehead

That DCS company really needs to just get wound up with how much damage they have inflicted on themselves with this nonsense.

I'm glad the 4x4 guy was successful, hope he manages to get something back out of them tho.

I just saw a council truck with "whakatāne.govt.nz" emblazoned on the side of it. At least via Spark, there is no DNS entry for that name (there is, of course, one without a macron). It looks like the marketing department and the technical department aren't talking to each other.

Can confirm, xn--whakatne-m7a.govt.nz does not exist.

At least it's a .govt.nz domain so people can't just go out and register it, redirecting to more "interesting" content.

If noone can type the name in, what is the point? Reminds me of why all the Chinese companies had their phone number as their domain name.
