All cars. Older viewers may recall a VW advert in which a garage mechanic oils a sleeping woman's squeaking earring that is annoying the driver...!

Battery compartments that require not only a screw removed to open them, but the screw to be put back to hold them closed.

Pretty sure that's a requirement for some stuff for the EU market, so kids can't easily access the batteries ...

... and accidentally electrocute themselves.

Hmmm... 1.5V ?

... or swap them into their Walkmen.

Walkmen? Kids? I doubt that any geriatrics still have Walkmen (that still work).

My three suggestions were meant to be. ... j.o.k.e.s.

Everyone knows it takes a 2v battery to shock a child.

And ask a kid about a Walkman? “Ya dreamin’ mate”.

No surprises there.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

That the new Visa card arrives with Paywave enabled - and it is so bl**dy hard / frustrating to get it disabled now!

Was a simple phone call last time!

Supposedly Visa / Mastercard "enforce" the "you must have it" now.

I have my reasons for not wanting that feature.

Finally after 20 minutes - ANZ Visa tell me IT CANNOT BE DISABLED!

Do a Google search. Lots of instructions on how to disable it. If you are reluctant to tamper with it, just keep it wrapped in foil. Personally I think everyone should sabotage these stupid cards. Maybe then Visa will get the message. I have no problem with it for those who actually want it. I have a big problem with people not being given a choice.

My work PC has rotatable displays (landscape or portrait) and they don't report the current setting back to the PC (or maybe they do and Windows just ignores it) so you need to manually change the rotation setting - which is frustrating when everything's 90° out!

Meanwhile my brother's old greyscale one - which was apparently made back in 1990 - manages to update the settings automatically.

The fact that the 'itemisation' on my mobile bill is nothing of the sort. It shows everything as having happened today.

"Mutti-Panzer"

(German abbrevation for battletank ("Panzer")-like, fat SUVs steered by moms ("Muttis") causing severe traffic chaos and endangering others preferably in front of Schools and Kindergardens, when dropping akinesic kids ... instead of doing it simply one street block away) wink
