Maybe the free level of Chat GPT knows the value of a 'baitful' headline.
Actually you do get a higher level of free GPT for a while each day before the dumber one shows up now.

With the big globals Google, Facebook, X, TikTok, etc eating up clicks and revenue, you have to.

BBC Headline went for a different angle.

paragraph 3.

"A police spokesperson said a jet ski believed to belong to the missing man was found on Monday night near Cooks Rock in Cook Strait."

Hmm, not sure if a jet-ski is a sign or not, but i'm leading to warward it might be :)

Bryan Adams backup singer has bout of diarrhea, forcing the concert to be cancelled?

Even if you didn't know who Bryan Adams was, surely you would assume he was a person, and not a band? E.g. Pablo Cruise.

Not ruling out the possibility that collectively "Bryan Adams" also refers to the entire ensemble, but the headline isn't consistent with the article.

Made me chuckle more than anything, no more solo/self love, or any other fun act that doesn't involve deliberately trying to get someone pregnant -

Responding to ongoing Republican efforts to restrict abortion access, Mississippi Democrat state Senator Bradford Blackmon introduced a bill last month before that state’s legislature that would ban men from all sexual acts where there was no “intent to fertilise an embryo”.

The “Contraception Begins at Erection Act” proposed outlawing “discharging genetic material” without trying to make a baby.

It included exceptions for donating sperm and using contraception to prevent fertilisation.

Guess they are going to have to arrest 99.9% of teenage boys.....

Hmm...

Funny thing about fish, they tend to die pretty quick when they are out of water... unlike mammals which actually breath air

Pilots ground aircraft in Sydney minutes after danger detected onboard. NZ Herald 3 March 2025

The aircraft got airborne, had smoke in the cockpit, declared an emergency, returned to Sydney Airport and LANDED safely.

Grounding an aeroplane implies not getting airborne in the first place, or at least a prohibition on flying at all. The error was repeated in the text of the article, so not just the sub-editor at fault.
