I did gently criticise my wife's misuse of apostrophes. I shan't make that mistake again...

Did the doctors manage to sew them back on again?

Yes, thanks for your concern. Luckily they were found and re-attached. At my age however they're really just for show.

Also, don't let the drugs generate the image you're using.

Uploaded in oversized resolution so you can appreciate the unusual vehicle design, although some details aren't visible.

Not a headline, but what proofreader missed the repeat of the NZ share prices instead of the Australian ones?

What makes you think there are still proofreaders?

My wife writes a semi-regular column for one of the papers and doesn't get any proofreading.

The Herald is going downhill quickly. Just saw a clickbait red banner MH370 'bombshell' news alert. What is the bombshell? The Malaysian government has agreed to a new search. Hardly a bombshell and already old news.

Well not entirely, the absorbent paper it's printed on makes it perfect for kitty litter tray liner.

Generally I don't notice this kind of clickbait. I'm almost blind to it unless someone tells me it's there.

This afternoon despite my best instincts in the other direction - bombshell is the giveaway - I clicked on that same Herald scrolling banner.

The Herald scrolling banners are now unreservedly in my mental adblocker.

It's not just NZ media with the gaffes.  This was Sky News UK reporting 'the' SAS had cancelled 12 flights.

Except it was SAS - Scandinavian Airlines System, the national airline of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden.

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?
