joshhill96: I've finished Lost, and I got so Lost that when someone explained to me what Lost was all about, I was Lost in Lost. At least I finished it, moving on to 24.

You know what 24 is though? Its the amount of hours you are going to sit in front of the TV from you start the first episode ;)

It's actually closer to 16 per season, each episode is only 42 or so minutes long. You will get additcted to 24, such a good series. Couple of seasons are a bit ho-hum but overall brilliant tv.

Mark: Just watched "Ash vs Evil Dead".
It was groovy! ?

Thanks for this heads up! Didn't even know about this, but Bruce Campbell is a legend and army of darkness is one of my favourite films, so will definitely give this a go.

Produced in New Zealand with a number of NZ actors, including one we all liked to see in leather ;-)

Ahh thats why wife commented on the Kiwi actress in the first episode. Its hilarious, looking forward to more of it.

BTW: If you are a fan of Bruce Campbell, then you should watch Burn Notice, where you will also see Jeffrey Donovan, which you can also see together with Bruce in the latest series of Fargo. (thats got to be worth some bonus points ;)

I bing-watched all 6 seasons of Burn Notice and really really enjoyed it.  All the main characters are excellent and there is a good mix of per-episode action along with larger story lines covering seasons.  Definitely worth watching.

We're watching Jekyll & Hyde... A British horror series based on the known book. Basically the grandson goes back to London and things happen from there. With supernatural twists.

Not bad but could have some better actors.

Just finished Jessica Jones, the Netflix Marvel series.  Dark at times, a little twisted, but had good tension, a few plot twists and was filmed with quite a stylistic look.
Definitely not your standard popcorn happy bright comic based Marvel franchise.  Quite refreshing in some respects.

We just finished watching Acquitted (Frikjent) on Lightbox. Its a Norwegian show about a man who was acquitted of murder and returns to his home town 20 years later. Lavishly shot, and captivating viewing.

It's subtitled, which we've usually steered clear from, but this was compelling enough for us to see it through to the end. We may have to rethink our "TV is not for reading" stance. ;-)

Yeah, we're half-way through this series at the moment, and really enjoying it.

It pays homage to film noir, but with a female in the lead - she's great, and as equally cynical as those of that earlier era. Importantly, it also doesn't take itself too seriously. I'm glad they keep the superhero stuff as just one component of the story, rather than it being a 'superhero' series.

Thanks for that recommendation - will give it a try before our free Lightbox trial ends.

Yeah, don't let subtitles put you off, given some of the best TV series of the last few years are European.

Other excellent series from a similar part of the world (all Danish or Danish/Swedish) are The Bridge (watching third season of this on BBC) and Borgen (also three series of this); also The Killing is supposed to be good (we watched the US version so are unlikely to watch the original now). The Legacy is another one we've got down to watch.

Currently watching Amazon's Mozart in the Jungle. Not bad, kind of funny in parts.

Came across "The Mystery of Matter" on sky which is a series by PBS in US about the history of matter. Three episodes. First was on gases, and the second was about elements.

Both fascinating to see the history of determining how/what gases are, how periodic table was determined, radioactiveity etc.

Can watch on sky now but its available online if you can pretend to be in the US via PBS website.

'The Expanse' is worth a watch if you are into Space Opera - Sci Fi.

It seems like a cross between Game of Thrones (based on a book series also) and Babylon 5.

I think it is good so far. But, it has a potential to be great.

Watching Casual at the moment and planning for The Wire when this season is finished. Kind of funny - available on Hulu only I think.

Great Pottery Throw Down.

WE finished it last night, and watched most episodes with our eight-year-old (who was fascinated the whole time). In all seriousness, it's been really enjoyable. But then again I love watching Project Runway (my wife's favourite programme!) and admiring/buying fine china. It's been great to see how bone china and porcelain are made into actual objects.
