Feels like our lovely green country is being bashed about by not only the weather but earthquakes too. Gizzy had a 4.3 off the coast as well during the cyclone.

Looking at the scenes from the Bay and the East Coast, there is just simply no way Auckland would have coped if the initial track of directly through or bouncing off the city had played out. 

 

It just would have been chaos.

 

Probably better that didn't happen, but I'm gutted for Napier and the Bay that it's happened to them.
