Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness 7/10. Excellent. I liked the story always developing and spectacular action sequences with unpredictable outcomes.

I watched this over five sessions which may have helped pace it. It was like an intense five issue comic series. Be sure to watch through the credits for -three- easter egg scenes.

I've never seen so many visual effects companies involved in one movie. Weta was one. Sam Raimi directing. If this was still showing in IMAX 3D I'd be off to see that version immediately.

Top Gun Marverick for the 2nd time. Took my 14yo daughter. We all watched the original Top Gun last week and she rated it 3.75/5, she rated the new one 4.5/5 saying it was stressful but really enjoyed it. Both times now the audience has been very engaged with comments, clapping and laughts etc.

We went to a V-Max at Events and the larger screen and better sound compared to what I expereinced the first time made me enjoy it even more. Got the sound track on now as I type this.

Minions - Rise of Gru

Another fantastic movie in the series. Perhaps the best of the lot, though most of them had pretty decent plots and what not for a kids movie 2 Adults and 2 Kids sat through it, and laughed out loud many times. Was *so* nice to see my wife and kids laughing and giggling.

Highly Recommended.

Saw a couple of movies on Netflix this weekend:

The Man from Toronto: Starring Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson, I actually took my brain out and watched this with some enjoyment.

It's not as violent or gory as many similar movies have been on Netflix (hence the 13 rating) and as a result, it was more enjoyable.

6/10

Hustle: NBA Basketball scout finds a once-in-a-lifetime prospect and fights to get him noticed. Plus some family drama thrown in.

It's a good drama - well acted and although I am not particularly into basketball (other than knowing a lot of the major historical names and teams), it was really good.

It left me with a few questions, like where did the scout get his money from to pay for everything, as he lived in a modest house and drove a very modest car?

Also - blown away at the fact that a starting salary for an NBA player was quoted as being $900k p.a. (as a new recruit!!) .

Adam Sandler was excellent - he had the world-weary, worn-out character absolutely nailed on. I know he's a huge basketball fan, so this would have been a little easier for him, than most.

9/10

DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS (2022) DISNEY PLUS: MOVIE 6.5/10: HOME CINEMA EXPERIENCE 10/10.

I have to start by admitting that I didn't understand everything that was happening in the Multiverse of Madness, but it was one helluva film for Home Cinema fans.

Disney Plus are showing the film in iMAX Enhanced format. The film was shot entirely on iMAX cameras, so there are only narrow black bars throughout the film. The visual presentation was excellent, and the Dolby Atmos soundtrack blew me away. It definitely deserves a second viewing just for the sound.

Amazing non-stop special effects added to the Home Cinema enjoyment. Run time of just under two hours (excluding credits) was just about the perfect length (no three hour marathon here).

I look forward to the sequel (there will be one), and hope that I don't have to be a Marvel Nerd to understand all of the goings on in it.

In the Shadow of the Moon . Netflix

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8110640/

"A Philadelphia police officer struggles with a lifelong obsession to track down a mysterious serial killer whose crimes defy explanation."

Really enjoyable, keeps up a good pace . A good plot twist at the end .
I wont give much away plotwise , its a cops obsession to find a killer and how it runs his life .
There is a Sci Fi twist to it , but its more a cop drama /action Film .
Well acted , no ham or wooden performances .
I'd give it a 8/10

I saw the latest in the Harry Potter multiverse this past weekend.

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore

I was quite wasted on painkillers for my back and I actually really enjoyed it.

The rest of my family retreated to their mobile phones. I didn't care. I was really enjoying it.

Could I tell you what went on? No. Was I a little confuddled? Yes. Did I still enjoy it? Indeed.

With all of that said, I think I would also have enjoyed Cats or some dreary foreign murder-dirge, too. As I say, I was pretty hopped up on the old painkillers.

THE MAN FROM TORONTO (Netflix) 3/10

Another Netflix flop.

With two Hollywood stars in Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson, I was expecting to be entertained by this action/comedy. I had lost interest after an hour, and as the action scenes got sillier and sillier, I totally lost track of the paper thin storyline, and couldn't care less what happened to the main characters.

I really should have done some research before wasting such precious movie watching time. 🤨

Minions - Rise of Gru

Highly Recommended.

Cheers - will watch this with the lad on Friday night

Watched The Gentlemen on Netflix over the weekend, interesting storyline and took me a little while to get used to Hugh Grant playing such a different role to what he usually plays but he did a great job of it! Think it was the accent that threw me off most but suited the character he played perfectly

7.8/10 on IMDB and id give it about that too

Looking back at my IMDb rating, I gave it a 9/10

I didn't think it was as good as Guy Ritchie's other London gangster efforts especially Rock 'n Rolla.

The Bad Guys - TV - 8/10

In the new action comedy from DreamWorks Animation, based on the New York Times best-selling book series, a crackerjack criminal crew of animal outlaws are about to attempt their most challenging con yet--becoming model citizens. Never have there been five friends as infamous as The Bad Guys.

We all thoroughly enjoyed this Dream Works production. Must see wet day viewing for the school holidays for all the family.

The princess, not the one about princess Di, the other one.

Basically princess fights back. Lowish budget but pretty fun. Some pretty solid fight choreography.

Worth it.

Im slowly working my way through the Netfix catalogue , so

Bird Box . netwfox
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2737304/

I'd give it a 7/10 . Worth a watch.
End of world apocolypse film. very well acted .
Didnt like the close ups on Sandra Bullock's face , if it was end of the world she wouldnt be wearing that much make up .
It was alot of make up , trying to make a 55 year old look under 30 ?

If you like zombie movies , you'll like this (there are no zombies)
