Aramex finally delivered my parcel from The Nile (TradeMe).
Maybe schadenfreude on my part but, given the distain I have for Gloriavale, I was pleased to see the recent Court of Appeal decision regarding Gloriavale and BNZ.
A very interesting situation now because it’s possible that this could cause the demise of Gloriavale.
However I wonder if Gloriavale could operate by running via personal bank accounts rather than business accounts. It might be difficult for any bank to close (or refuse to open) personal accounts based on the account owner’s ideology.
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

I think a bit of schadenfreude is acceptable bearing in mind how vile Gloriavale is.
The puppetmasters at Gloriavale will be reluctant to let individuals have their own bank accounts .... unless the accounts are signed over to the puppetmasters. Financial dependency on the puppetmasters is an important part of the manipulation game.
Perhaps when a bank sees the individuals address on the application form, they will refuse it.

I was thinking maybe the puppetmasters themselves could run it through personal accounts held in their names.
A bank may be on thin ice refusing to open an account based solely on someone's address - although a bank doesn't have to open an account for anybody.

Opened Stocard in my watch and proceeded to scan the barcode.
Went to use Stocard on my today and the app is no longer available, you have to use the Klarna app. I wanted to use Stocard for scanning the Airpoints Barcode, but I couldn't hold up a queue by having to get an SMS Code and an Email Code and download the App.

If they can not open an account for a dildo factory they can not open an account for a religious nutter.

As long as they invoke the magic phrase "anti-money-laundering" they can do whatever they like. "Bark like a dog, then jump up and down saying 'I'm a teapot, I'm a teapot'. Anti-money-laundering, you know".
Sound check of the newly changed/added (reduced to the max) 2.0 audio components.
After half an hour now, the grin is still on my face. You can keep everything else - no matter what, even 7.1. I've poured myself a nice whisky and listen to the clean, unobtrusive low bass from jazz to classical and pop/rock.

Yup. Good audio is floorstanding Wharfedales and physics, not some crappy soundbar and an autotune.

Two channel is nice for music. 7 discrete speakers and a big ass sub is hard to beat for home theatre.

That's what I would do if I were equipping a room as a home theatre. But I want my devices in the combined living and dining room, and the requirements for a big surround system are not suitable there:
- Someone listening to music there with concentration = 2.0 (or 2.1) for music.
- We have guests and a playlist with suitable background music should be played during dinner = comes from my NAS, analogue sources digitised (ADC) in real time (e.g. Revox B-77 tape, Vinyl) or from streaming services (Spotify, Tidal, ...)
- We/I am watching TV or a film = TV + coreELEC + amp with eARC and very good dispersion speakers, with which you can localise sounds quite accurately (not like 7.1, but still accurate). There is an output for a subwoofer as well, but the speakers can deliver plenty of bass.
- Someone is visiting and has the latest hit on their smartphone with them = amp with BT input & codecs.
- We have a party and the same music is to be played synchronised throughout multiple rooms = distributed ‘raumfeld’ network system.
My configuration above is well suited to the requirements mentioned, is small, unobtrusive and takes up very little space. For more, I would set up a separate home cinema room, but it's not worth it for us „just“ for the sound and maybe consequently a nice beamer. We prefer to sit with friends in the living room or dining room („German Gemütlichkeit“ 🤣).

Refusing to open accounts for a sex toy operation has been BNZ's loss. Maybe their 'principles' transcend this but when the other banks heard about this, they flocked in and offered accounts to the business. It seems the client is going to run with Westpac.
This raises the question: If a BNZ business client selling say, religious paraphernalia, suddenly started also selling sex toys, would BNZ stroll in and tell them that their account is going to be closed? Since when did banks become the moral police - or the climate change police for that matter - but that's a current and actual separate story centred on rural petrol stations.
Just remembered - true story: When I worked for BNZ many moons ago, BNZ had a Business Banking client that was a well-known knock-shop in Auckland suburbia. It was a very successful business and there was always much jocularity and banter in the office when the Relationship Manager was paying them a (professional) visit.
