I have a courier post package that was picked up on the 5th of November.

It has been at the Highbrook distribution centre since the 5th.

I rang NZ Post today and they told me not to ring back until at least the 21st.

It sounds pretty broken.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Did they silently progress your package?

Your package isn't sitting at one warehouse forever

It is being processed, but that NZ Post is not scanning your package until its last-mile courier delivery

Mine is showing as "international departure" as of Saturday morning. They said it would take a week, so let's see what happens.

I sent something this morning from Auckland to Tauranga via track and trace. Target delivery time is "overnight" I was told. Let's see how accurate that is tomorrow.

Update, it's been updated to next Monday for delivery, so much for "overnight"! Sigh.

The international one I sent is still on "International departure, in Auckland, New Zealand" and has been since the 13th - does that mean it's left the country, or it's still just sitting at Auckland Airport?

If they are still offering an overnight service, then yes.

That's what I was told when I sent it off at the post office - I categorically asked what the delivery time was for this, and the guy said "overnight".

100%. If it's what they are going to do, then I expect them to achieve it - they're more than happy to take my money while claiming they will deliver overnight.

If they know they can't achieve that, say so.

Go back to the shop and ask for a refund then because thats clearly not what NZPost are saying at a higher level

I don't think they would give me a refund, most likely the guy would just apologise for giving me the wrong information.

Auspost is a real crapshoot at the moment, 1 parcel here in 5 days, another still hasn't left AU:

I've had one parcel picked up from retailer by Toll, handed off to Courier Post. Order made 12th Nov, Toll collected 16th, handed off to NZ Post on the 23rd. How long before they get it to me is anyone's guess. Still processing at Depot, I'll give them till Monday before I go back to the retailer (they are responsible). Reminder to not use that retailer again though, Toll are pretty useless - they had it for a week before handing it on.

Another one - from Christchurch (to Waiheke Island). Ordered Sunday night. Arrived this morning (NZ Post as well).

Another one - from Newmarket. Collected a week ago. Still at depot.

It's just random, and I suspect the truck that comes over to Waiheke every day just gets filled till it can take no more, and everything still left in the pile stays in the pile. No first in first out there.

I've gotta say they've improved markedly since we went back to level 3.6(a)b-alpha(1).2.316-paragraph-4 or whatever it is right now. Had a delivery from PB Tech arrive overnight cross-town in Auckland, and another one from Warehouse Stationery arrive in two days, also cross-town. Presumably the ability to shop in person again has taken a lot of the stress off the couriers.

So I checked NZPost's website
Due to COVID-19 restrictions and increases in parcel volumes, we have delivery delays of up to 6 working days in Hamilton, 3 working days in Auckland, and 1 working day across the rest of NZ.

Nah it becomes worse for me in Hamilton (it was 4 days delay for Auckland and 5 days for Hamilton)
