The concept of merge like a zip is for merging to occur at to junction of the two lanes not for you to find a spot to merge. You are the one slowing down the process.

The concept of merge like a zip is for merging to occur at to junction of the two lanes not for you to find a spot to merge. You are the one slowing down the process.

UK practice is to merge as soon as there is the faintest inkling that a lane is closed ahead, leaving long stretches of lane unused. Anyone daring to use this lane and merge at the sensible place will be met with psychopathic rage and gaps between cars thinner than Cigarette paper. Public spirited truck drivers will straddle both lanes in order to prevent such affronts to the queuing system. The UK transport ministry actually tried to change to the more sensible zip system a few years ago but gave up shortly after, driver behaviour is just too entrenched

The anti-e-Scooter brigade.

I had a super-passive-aggressive lady on the bus just being so overt with her hostility because I had the cheek to take my folded e-scooter on the bus, which somehow seriously inconvenienced her.

She also made some sort of comment as I got off the bus at the same stop as her and proceeded to unfold my e-scooter and don my helmet ready for the ride home.

I was under the impression that members of British Royal family have immunity similar to diplomatic immunity. If I recall correctly its called Crown or Sovereign immunity.

Simply remain in the UK and have his solicitors politely tell the FBI to whistle.

They are hardly likely to try and extradite him (if they even can, they have not laid any charges) and one word from The Firm would probably put a stop to it if they were that foolish as to try.

They do. The Queen, for example, need not pay income tax - although she does so voluntarily.

Not quite true, although perhaps it applies to the courts rather than the FBI. The 5th prevents self incrimination. If you are under no threat of incrimination then you cannot withhold. If you believe the DOJ opinion that a president cannot be charged with any crime then the president cannot claim the 5th. Similarly if you have been given immunity you cannot plead the 5th as there is no threat to you.

As an interesting aside this could mean Trump wont pardon any of his comrades that were taken down by the Mueller investigation, if he pardons them then the courts can compel them to testify everything they know and they cannot plead the 5th [as many of them were pinged for lying it would remain to be seen whether they would in fact give honest testimony anyway]
