Geektastic: Hotels that have rooms with adjoining doors where the doors are so poorly insulated you can hear a pin drop next door through them.
Yeah useful when it's your kids next door, and not when it's someone else's kids.
This is more "something that confuses me" rather than annoys me.
A month ago, I was expecting a package and it didn't turn up. No package (despite having authority to leave) and no card. Fortunately I was able to figure out from the tracking number which company had it and was able to pick it up.
Today, the card appeared in my box, dated 11 November. Has one of the neighbours been sitting on it for a month or something?!

he probably cleaned his van out and found it.
Common sense is not as common as you think.

Geektastic: Ordered some replacement parts for my Aeron chair.
The order 'missed our last delivery for the year' and despite being available ex factory on 28 November, won't now arrive until 12 weeks after that.
They're small parts. Have they never heard of FedEx?!
I assume that is the local distributor that is not getting any more in for the year?
When companies don't seem at all interested in potential new customers.
"... we need to inform you that our <product of interest> is available only for long term customers and needs to be sold after signing a non disclosure agreement."
I suppose I should be grateful for the reply. I've contacted three companies selling this type of product. One didn't reply, one replied saying they will sell to me, but I've had to chase them constantly for specifics (e.g. shipping costs and payment methods). I shouldn't have to make phone calls just to get a reply to an e-mail form weeks earlier.
I'll keep looking. Grr.

I assume this is the shark-head-mounted laser weapon that they won't supply to new customers?
I kind of get it...they're in huge demand at the moment and the existing customer do get priority, with their buying history of other "Evil Genius Inc." products...but yes, it's frustrating when they won't even reply to a web form/email.
I feel your pain...or at least I would if I wasn't wearing my Evil Genius Inc. anti-pain suit.

You're on to me. I think I'll be going outside for a while.
It's actually just an electrostatic powder with certain reflective properties I'm wanting. I'm avoiding using the specific terminology so other people searching for it don't find this post about how useless suppliers are instead of useful information.

I hope its not that super dark black thing that had that artist get all silly about...

Vantablack? No. I'm going for the opposite extreme. Specifically, I want reflective powder coat that will help stop neighbours hitting my grandmother's fence. Reflective tape just doesn't last in that environment. Glass beads poured over a clear coat will probably have to do.
Buying a few pairs of trousers all the same size then having to wander about all day hitching one of them up because one of them is significantly bigger and looser than the others.
Suppose I could just use a belt but its the principle of the thing...
Never mind not being able to get trousers of different lengths so I have to roll the bottoms up (at least for us cheap KMart shoppers out there).

Geektastic:
Try Volvo Life Paint.
You get it at Volvo dealers. It's a clear spray coat that you can't see in daylight but which lights up like a Christmas tree in car headlights.
Thanks for the tip! I'll look in to that if the cheap glass beads I ordered from AliExpress don't work well enough for me.
EDIT: It appears it only lasts about a week and washes off... not as durable as I'll need for my application.
