The UK has no suppression laws - at least, not in the way they apply here.
Judges can (and do) order suppression when the court is convinced that there are reasons. Complainants in rape trials get automatic suppression, something which has raised questions of ethics and fairness because the accused gets their name smeared all over the paper even if acquitted at the end and even if the accusations were malicious (there have been several quite high profile occurrences of that in the UK in the last couple of years).
Other than that, there are instances where people apply for injunctions to prevent things being reported or published. They can apply to things that have nothing to do with criminal (or other) trials though.
Even here it is a bit silly.
"Police are searching for Fred Bloggs in connection with an armed robbery he was seen committing in Napier. If you have any information, please call Crimestoppers."
A week later
"A person, who cannot be named, was arrested for the armed robbery in Napier we reported here last week."
