I am probably strange but I like it, so does my wife. We regard it as a completely new show.

"probably" ?  :)

Top Gear did get a bit over the top with the fast cut shots for a while there.

Generally excellent cinematography, but occasionally it was too fast to actually take in what you were watching.

I don't agree with all your views on things, but I've never considered you in this category. Ever.

so no more "powaaaar", "i've never driven anything like this in my entire life", "i've wet myself"?

I do miss his sarcastic comments about cars, yet finds something good to say about them, before killing the car off with a one liner put down slam dunk.

Do I miss the cars? What cars?

I also think it's got better with each new episode.
I think they maybe need to boost MLB, reduce Chris Evans a bit and add a third interest. My vote would be Sabine Schmitz. Liked her Germanic comments.
The program is now more objectively about cars.

The BBC should just hold its nerve.

the last time it was just about cars it was failing miserably and it took Clarkson to rescue it and make it what it became today. The majority of it's audience couldnt care less about the cars .

When is the new Clarkson, May, Hammond show due?
I will watch it with fresh eyes and open mind. I hope it is good.

They are definitely reducing Evans involvement by the looks of it. Matt LeBlanc had far more to do this time, and was doing most of the presenting. His bit with Chris harris showed they have a far better chemistry, although both are still quite stiff.

Having watched episodes 1, 2 and part of 3, I am warming up to this now.

I suppose I need to treat it like a new show, and avoid making comparisions.

Got around to watching ep3... Ken Block and Matt LeBlanc were awesome. I actually laughed at MLB.

The rest was boring.

That I didn't stream it as soon as I could speaks volumes, might even wait until it is on prime and Tivo it to watch later...

It was on here Monday... I waited until Tuesday instead of watching it instantly. In fact, I used to "find" episodes as soon as they were released and watch them the moment I got home. If there was something interesting on TV last night, I wouldn't have bothered watching it then either.

Where I used to find it didn't even have a proper copy anyway. Signs that people are over it???

Well I'd have to say I have warmed to Top Gear quite nicely. I am enjoying the segments on the whole. I do believe Chris Evans is the worse presenter there, and with an apparent significant rift between MLB and CE with one of them quitting, I'd be surprised to see CE survive.

The problem is that CE has more car knowledge, MLB is poor by comparison. A lot of his commentary on the specs of cars is read and scripted, as opposed to say CE who probably has better knowledge overall.  I don't think MLB is suited to head presenter so I am unsure how the format would work.

I wish they would remove uncle eddy, that guy gives me the serious creeps. I like Rory Reid and the other guy that is the racing guy, though both of them aren't perfect either.

Yeah I am starting to like it, except Chris Evans but I see they have all but taken him out.  Good to see more of Sabine too in the latest episode.

I like Sabine but in small doses. I don't see any reasonable candidates for lead presenter in the current presenter list.

Evans seems to be pulling his head in and is actually growing on me a bit. I also agree that Sabine is fine in small doses.

The bit of the show I'm not enjoying is the stars in rally cross cars. I don't mind the new track or the actual driving but I find the car comparison and voting horribly contrived, painful, and unnecessary. Also don't really like each star reading out what the other star is up to.

Oh well. Only one episode left in the series and then we will have to wait to see what they have learned from this season.
