Exactly, and they're mostly all really long.

Only way to cram this much stuff into a short period of time is to gloss over some aspects.

Side note but I feel the same about the last Star Wars trilogy. No idea why that has to be limited to a trilogy at all really, as it could easily have another 2 or more movies in this same era.
Episode 2 fluffed around all over the galaxy, but by the end they're down to what 10 'good guys' left? and most everyone is dead (or are they?...)
Get the feeling Episode 3 is going to be a similar rush to close it all off, and we've already seen that 'hey I'm now a trained Jedi' in 2 hours type finger to everything previous as well.

The how they die game (thanks to previous poster):

Hound's going to fight his brother and win. But probably not without mortal wounds. Dead.

Jamie's going to try first to get Cersei to surrender to save all the people in the city and dies of poison she administered shortly after succeeding in killing her. Dead.

Cersei dies at Jamie's hand but not before poisoning him first as they chat. Dead.

Arya- lives because both remaining people on her list die at other's hands.

Jon- dies by knife from Dany in treacherous embrace. Dead.

Dany- killed by Arya for killing Jon. Dead.

Greyworm- leads the forlorn hope mission into the castle before Cersei dies and gets overwhelmed. Dead.

Varys tells Arya who killed Jon- lives.

Tyrion- killed by Dany for being a traitor (whether he was or not).

Sansa- lives to take the throne and sends Arya back to Winterfell to take care of it. Later, Arya will have to kill her because Arya's kid is a threat.

Brienna- lives to be guardian first of Sansa, then Arya's kid.

Might be that Tyrion lives through Dany's attempt and becomes an advisor to Sansa... that guy is a survivor!

The one thing that makes me think Jamie won't kill Cersei is that it's his kid. Convesely he may kill all 3 of them, him because he has done heinous things for Cersei, Cersei for a similar reason and a hundred others, and the baby he justifies as likely to be as evil as both of them added together and he wants to end it. Cersei won't surrender to Jamie, he holds no real power over her. She is a different level of cold blooded. Can't recall the name of the guy she is banging, but perhaps Jamie tells him it's Jamies baby not his and he kills her instead. Can't happen till her Knight gets dead. One other option is the Knight betrays her at Jamies behest or something. His loyalty isn't to her but rather whomever sits on the throne, right?

Dany looked pretty pissed that Jon wouldn't bow to her wish to keep their being related a secret. I think at this point she sees it's him or her.

Greyworm won't see any point to being alive beyond revenge, he won't find another like her or even close.

The latest trailer makes it look like there may be a surprise in the sky for our old mate "dirty pirate".

I wager he'll be burned out of the water by a dragon coming out of the clouds and that will be the end of the Iron Fleet.

Next will be the Mountain/Hound clash...I predict a double death...

Pirate Guy = Euron Greyjoy

I try to avoid these as much as possible. There are people who are far too invested in GOT me thinks!

I am looking forward to tonights episode.

The vitriol that many of those people spout is insane. And the incredible depth of knowledge of a fictional world (which appears to be very real to many) is startling.

I also try to avoid them, but tend to agree that this season has been a rushed affair full of holes...the desert suddenly appearing where the sea once was around Kingslanding is one such weird and unexplained thing that seems to be cropping up.

Its odd how the purists have been going for the happy ending and blaming the davids for poor writing. Just because a character overcame adversity and worked their way up does'nt mean they cant lose it all and turn into a huge disappointment. There is so much of that in real life.

As Lord Acton said... Absolute power corrupts absolutely. A flying nuclear arsenal will see to that.

Its not happy endings by any stretch, but when has the show ever been about that?

I just wish the show's creators had spent a bit more time developing the reason the story has gone in a certain direction, as they have for seasons 1-6, rather than leave the viewer to fill in the gaps.

And as for next week...

Hot garbage is all I can call it.
Way Too rushed to tie up loose ends that leave you feeling ripped off.
In all honesty, if this is the payoff for 8 years of build up I’m left half wishing I never started watching those years ago. It’s not the fact that there’s no happy ending, it’s the fact that we know there was better storytelling that needed more time to end the story well.
