I think there’s potential for abuse with the new rules;

Set your employees base rate to be 7 hours a day, four days a week down from the usual 8x5

Make the 5th day and the 8th hour extra or bonus work.  Reduce wages but add bonuses to make up for the shortfall

You now pay much less on their holiday rate.

If you’re already on a low rate but get weekly bonuses that you rely on to pay the bills, you’re going to be in for a shock when you go on holiday.

Are you in the right thread? There's no context or question there.

New rules recently announced by our govts. A reasonable critique of the new rules but overall I think more or less on the right track.

I think the extra day of 'overtime' would have to have a 12.5% bonus which would knock out the benefits of not paying as much for leave.

I could see a bunch of places saying that your 'base pay' is minimum wage but the rest of your pay is a bonus.

Any Apple AirPrint experts here?

If I buy an AirPrint-capable printer and connect it to my Wi-Fi network, can I then print to it from my Ethernet-connected Mac? Obviously with both on the same network.

Unfortunately it looks to be about an extra $100 to get a printer with Ethernet!

In any case, remember to isolation, or devices on Wi-Fi can't see each other.

*Disable isolation?

I.e. not have the router on guest mode.

No. Wireless isolation, also known as client isolation or AP isolation, is a network security feature that prevents devices connected to the same Wi-Fi network from communicating with each other.

Yeah, you missed out the word 'disable' there!.

Client isolation is I believe typically the basis of guest mode, though there's a bit more to it.

Yes it will work.

How to tell Windows that I don’t want the new SEPT format in place of SEP?  Especially for Excel.

I use Excel for a lot of functions and need it in the MMM format.

You can change your regional settings to Australia for this.  There were a few links to registry settings to change to also do this without the regional settings change, but they didn't work for me

Edit:  Supposed Registry changes to resolve (at your own risk), they didn't work for me: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/2286423/windows-2025-nz-month-format-sept

I was looking at something today with "Sept" in there and thought I was going nuts!

The NZ region also doesn't allow you to select the One True Date Format, YYYY-MM-DD.
