The bridge is partly closed for "annual maintenance" again.

The two northbound clip-on lanes are closed for resurfacing.

A year ago, the bridge was also partly closed for "annual maintenance' and it was also the two northbound clip-on lanes that were due for resurfacing.

Seems odd. Why do those lanes need annual resurfacing while the rest of the bridge seems to need nothing?

My understanding is that the northbound lanes require more maintenance because trucks are heavier travelling north. No really they are. They pick up from the ports, head north to deliver their load then come back empty.
