I moved to Telecom for my ISP around this time last year and as part of the deal got a pretty good brand new ADSL modem/Router.

I'm now in the process of moving to Orcon Genius, which of course requires a new (refurbished!) Modem...

The question is what to do with the now unneeded modem?

Because all the ISPs seem to give away modems these days, there doesn't seem to be any resale market for them.

Its only had a year of use so seems silly to just throw it out, but its also no use to me at all unless I move away from Orcon again (in which case I'd probably get another free modem from the other ISP???)

Does Telecom want it back??? any other ideas?

Doing your best is much more important than being the best.

Remember to factory reset any routers before selling/giving away to remove any personal info eg login details.
This includes "brand new" units shipped from the ISP as often they will pre-configure them.

There have been cases reported on here previously about people who have sold/brought routers with details left on them.
