My daughter recently bought a new stethoscope from a US supplier, and then had NZ Post’s YouShop service send it on to us … no problem there.

The parcel arrived today, and along the top was some tape saying “ … le Opened by USA war …”.  No objections to the contents being inspected, but what was is the full message?  I assume the first letters ‘le’  are the end of ‘article’, but what could the last three be part of viz. ‘war’?  There is a partial next letter showing and is curved, so not another ‘r’ to mean ‘warrant’ … and in any case if a search warrant was involved, under US law a copy must accompany the released item.  Certainly not ‘warning’, so what other appropriate words begin ‘war’?

It's warehouse, I've had it before. They open it to see if they can repack to save space/cost.
