What's with this awful need to show news items in the middle third of our screens, with the side bits blurred out? !!

Do the TV stations think I'm not capable of focusing on what I am watching?

you mean videos from idiots who record with their phone in portrait mode?

Paul1977: But back on topic. When portrait is the default position to hold your phone, there will always be people who video stuff this way.

The question is - 

Would you prefer it displayed on the news with:

A) The edges blurred out to fill the screen
B) Simple black pillar boxing

I vote B


Or C) turn your TV sideways
