We are having our wedding next friday and Vector has decided to do maintenance on the power grid which means there will be two outages the first for about 3hrs which will affect getting ready and the 2nd right in the middle of our ceremony at 4pm for a couple of hours.

This is going to cause major problems, I've tried contacting Vector and they are unwilling to postpone or help at this stage, so we are looking for work arounds.

For the ceremony I was thinking I could hook up a bluetooth mic to a UE boom, trouble is I cant find bluetooth mic in NZ, does anyone know where I could find one?

Cheers.

I'm with some of the other posters, I assume you are paying good money for the venue, and it is not really acceptable that they have booked out the venue during a scheduled power outage, and expect you just to deal with it.

What should happen in this circumstance is for the venue to have an electrician install a change over switch, and a generator feed socket. This will allow a rented generator to be plugged in, so power is available.

Rental of a generator is generally $300 - $500 per day, - what you want is a silenced 1,500RPM diesel generator (will come mounted on a trailer, or of skid - a skid mounted generator will require the rental company to deliver it with a crane).

Avoid portable generators (typically noisy 3000RPM units) & extension cords if possible.
