An update.

The TV was delivered last week.

Initial impressions was it's very flash but won;t fit on my old stand as the LG's feet are fixed too far apart.

Solved with a quick visit to PBTech for an aftermarket solution.

Operation is pain with the "Magic Remote" - too few buttons and too much buried in multi-page menus

:(

A solution is on the way in the form of an old school remote with many dedicated buttons - thanks Mr LG !

Once sorted the picture is very good, albeit with a distinct digital look even with all the picture improvement things switched off.

4k off Youtube. 4k UHD disc shows an improvement over 1080p sources, not so much in sharpness or brightness but in colour depth.

Slow Horses in 4k still has a horrible green  tint  🤣

Sound from the built-in speakers was very good.

Overall an excellent entree to the world of 4K and OLED.

Thanks again to Mauricio and LG NZ.

Attached is a still of the same BD I used on my old Samsung 15 years ago !

Stanley Kubrick's Barry Lyndon - one of the most beautiful looking films ever.

😄
