If you ignore that one, you get a more formal sounding one later that starts off, "Oh dear, we've noticed that your Trade Me account..."

Did you call them to discuss giving them some love? (at $2 per minute?!).
Unfortunately I regularly find myself getting these emails. Trademe went on a charm offensive recently when the competition was heating up!

If trademe goes under we'll all know it was because of your huge unpayed debt...

The thought did cross my mind

No issue ...
I just find the email really strange ... Showing love, I'm in debt, calling @ $1.99 per minute etc ...

I think it's random; mine went straight to "oh dear".

The third one must be something along the lines of don't you love me anymore?

So the third one is "the break up"... or is it more "lets see other people and see how it goes"?

It is a bit of a flaw that the system allows you to go into debt anyway. If their system was smart it wouldn't allow you to have auctions running, that if they sold, the commission would send your account into debt, at least for the reserve price. It will likely still go into debt if the auction goes for a lot more than the reserve. Maybe though they could link it to a creit card which automatically tops up the account, so it doesn't. Surprised they haven't thought of doing either of those options. The first options though would be unpopular, as it may require larger traders to have a large amount of credit with them, so the second option is probably a better one.

I *HATE* this new email direction. They are a corporate making millions, sounding pathetic in emails. It really grates my nerves. The account doesn't need love, it needs money.

If my Wife started up with this nonsense she would be down the road, sadly there aren't plenty more auction sites in the sea!
