I have a feeling that telecom or Telstra Clear (vodafone) will come out near the top.
Compass and Slingshot will probably come out down low.

Edit: was meaning compass not xnet/wxc

I'm going for Snap near the top and Orcon way down low as the worst. Slingshot moving downwards fast. Telecom halfway.

Not sure with Telstra/Vodo with the buy out.

don't quite understand the slingshot hate myself...

have been with them for a couple of years now - easy connect up - changed to ayce last year - consistent stable 14Mbs connection in a dsl2 area - no disconnects - consistent 1.5MB/s dl speeds via filehosts - have dl'd some ridiculous volumes some months - all for a fixed price - couldn't be happier really...

that said appreciate ymmv...

Everyone has their own experiences and opinions... I like Orcon, never had any major issues with them, but had hassles with Quicksilver (when Woosh bought them out and ran them into the ground), Vodafone, Xnet.... yet, as per tonights episode, some people have issues with Orcon but love Telecom and so on...

Its pretty much the Ford vs Holden debacle but with ISPs :-p

Likewise, no (Internet) issues with Slingshot - other than wait times for customer service.

Same here - i love the ayce plan at home.
However they have a history of not scoring very high on these sorts of consumer tests. So i would just predict they will again fall in the lower bunch.

That being said, its now 8.40 and i think the episode might be up on the ondemand site now so i should probably go watch it and find out.

I've been with 4 ISPs in the past 5 years, I'd rank them best to worst:

1) Snap ADSL - currently with them, excellent service, speed and price
2) Telecom ADSL - was on one of their business plans, good service
3) Slingshot ADSL - was my backup connection when my TCL cable went down, they were fine but nothing special
4) Telstraclear Cable - was with them for about 2 years, it was so unreliable I had to have a backup ADSL connection, I was having downtime of at least 30 minutes about once a month. When I could get through to their support people (usually after a 30-60 minute wait) the problem was usually fixed within a couple of hours, the worst was 36 hours.

I only saw the article about Orcon.... was just a customer getting billed for non-service. Usual thing that every ISP gets really.... then they had a followup about Vodafones lack of coverage and thats all I saw about telcos.... but I didnt watch the entire show.

Going to try Snap any time soon but Actrix has been my best ISP. They do cost a fair bit more than most others thou ...

I've found Orcon a tad bit better speed at least than Telstraclear. I had Xnet before but at the time they didn't support ADSL2+ when others did. Never tried Telecom.

No issues here with currently Telecom and in the past VF. All good solid speeds, connection never drops etc and I live in apt block on the 8th floor.

Care to back that up with reasons ?
