eXDee: I still think its amazing how expensive cordless phones are with such little technology, yet one can pickup an $80 cell phone that has many times more features than an $80 cordless phone (which is basically callerid and answerphone).
richms: And decent power output. Why the hell is it so hard to find a cordless that will work all over a house and property, yet cells go for miles and miles to the cellsite and will usually work thru way more building than will kill a cordless.

Hell, my toy walkie talkies work furthur than my crap panasonic dect phone.

SteveON: The reason I was looking for the most expensive cordless phone was because I would like a cordless that can work with my VFX line Johnsonville wide. Our office is pretty central so getting a wider reception would be nice.

That's because there are power guidelines for DECT handsets, both on the TX power and the power limits imposed by some countries.
And you as well as anybody should know that cheap walkie talkie, probably on PRS, will have a lot greater range than a 250mW 1800MHz signal so your comparisions are meaningless.
