Has anyone with ihug been throttled back to 64 K recently and have good evidence that they had not actually reach their monthly allowance? I suspect that ihug's counting of data is not working correctly. Fred
I noticed that this month as well. I was away for the first week & the router was off so I shouldn't have incurred any traffic. Having been back a week I then checked my traffic allowance to find I was over 60% through it. And for some mysterious reason this month, the daily summary of traffic allowance is absent. I emailed iHug who told me it's a 'technical issue' & they have engineers working on it. A week later the summary is still down (the button has disappeared) so I repeated the email & was told the same thing. Two weeks into the month I'm back on dial-up but there's _no way_ I've used all my traffic. Probably just co-incidence that the month all my data allowance disappears overnight is the same month I can't check their webpage to see where it's gone. It's interesting someone else has noticed that too though.
Does anyone know of any software that will sit between your browser/torrent client/newsgroup reader & the router & keep a track of all the data going both ways without incurring a huge performance hit? I'd like to know what I'm actually using & compare it with what they say I am?
To be truly accurate it would actually have to be monitored by your router as all the traffic that the router's firewall rejects also counts towards your allowance
Yes I second this, just reset your modem, note your data status on your ISP's account, and compare the two the next day. do remember to add both up and down stream data.
Much as I applaud their 'upfrontness' I am still aggrieved I was back on dial-up way before my traffic limit was reached (by my estimation). Unfortunately of course I now have no way of proving it until the 7th February.... Perhaps, until they fix the problem, they should remove all throttling.... yeah right
