getting Naked fiber installed this week

but a got a few questions

1, can i have the ONT in one room eg: the lounge and the router/modem in another room eg: home office ?

the office is right next to the lounge

and the modem will be place on the other side of the wall where the ONT will be

will i be charged since the modem is not in the same room as the ONT ?

2, looks like the install of the fiber cable will be over head over the power pole

i live down a long drive and aslo have a power pole outside so do they need permission from the power company first ?

The installers are only responsible for installing the ONT. Where you put your router is up to you. If your desired router placement requires additional works, you will need to arrange and pay for that.

It depends who own that pole. If you're getting installed this week, it does imply that any permission that was required has already been granted.

PS there I no such thing as a modem in the UFB world, its a router :)

as mentioned the LFC is responsible up till the ONT, anything after that is your responsibility so if you want it placed remote from the ONT you need to pay for it.

The ONT needs to be laced next to a power point

Perhaps the opposite issue here.....the Chorus map has been saying June 2019 for about the last 3-4 years, but today I got home to a Chorus pamphlet saying they are about to start work in my street. Has my date moved up or can it take 8 months from digging holes to live?

yep could still take that long, it would be at the extreme of the time taken though
