I'm moving into a new apartment in a couple of weeks, so I'm currently trying to work out what the best deal for phone and internet is.

Basic requirements are:

- Broadband connection with data cap of around 20GB (10GB as an absolute minimum)

- Phoneline with cheap/unlimited national tolls. I've never had a VoIP line before, but I'm happy to consider VoIP if it will save money.

At the moment I'm looking at going for Orcon Genius (the 30GB plan + the unlimited national calling add-on), which works out at $90 per month. Is this likely to be my best option? Or are there better deals available?

Thanks for your help.

Cheers.

Slingshot have some good deals, they have a special of $60 for 10GB Fs/FS inc homeline (would have to call them to get it), more data can be brought and I think they have a $16 for 100hours of national calling per month.

Vodafone has some pretty good deals on their Naked Broadband, especially if you have a On Account mobile with them.

If Telstra cable is available in the area then I would recommend their naked BB (20Gb) for $56 plus voip from someone like Xnet ($11)

Vodafone nDSL with 2Talk line. $65 + $11 = $74.

edit: I haven't factored in any hardware.  I would steer clear of the Vodafone supplied modem and get your own, plus you'll need an ATA or VoIP phone to connect to 2Talk.

They also have the absolute worst customer service ever, and lots of congestion at peak times. Off peak is much better though.

Time to find a new industry!

while people look for best deals, or cheap deals, you typically get what you pay for.
