Looks like my ADSL2 line was done early this morning, gone from 8.6/0.9 to 11.6/1

A 34% increase is nice! We are on 13.3/1 right now so that would see me jump to approx 17.5/1.1 I'd take that for free.

Don't expect it to math perfectly.

However your math coaligns with a move from 12dB to 6dB which is what ddDLM can do for adsl.

my line that was around 14/1 went up to 17/1.2 however..

give it more time to settle in is all i can say..

Don't try to force back down to 8b, I messed with that the other day... Totally broke my line somehow..

Still at a loss of what exactly happened unless it totally perfectly timed with a copper fault returning!

I guess the question is how long?  The sync figures have not shifted since the reconnect 9 days ago so I presume the DSLAM is not actually doing anything now.  I'm unfortunately towards the end of the line due to some serious stupid cable laying, despite the cabinet up the road being a lot closer (cul-de-sac off the road with the cabinet no more 200 to 300 away where as my cabinet is about 700/800m away).

I haven't really seen ddDLM changing much on VDSL lines as of yet apart from profiles.

all i can really put that down to is... have they flicked the actual switch yet?

I'm not going to complain, really no need as resi services are a best effort and I already lost 5mbps upstream for no real reason a while ago, its just a bit weird that 9 days ago after a full connection reset that wasn't initiated by me (router had been connected for a long time and with static IP no need to grab new IP), it was syncing 10mbps lower near enough at the same time people started posting in here... Either way meh, disappointing and no fibre until 2019 here either.

Still on 42/9.5 for a 17db down/21db up line. So no change in speed but 8ms ping added each way for an already rock solid connection. Thanks chorus......

Interesting. My ADSL2 line went from 14/1 to 17/0.7

Loving the download improvement but the drop in upload is hurting working from home.

Just remember guys, ddDLM does not inherently mean everyone's line will be perfect or improved.

on lines where the machine decides it can do the work though, we are seeing an improvement.

Its just a shame, from what it appears, that those lines that where better before have got worse from the change.  Where any VDSL profiles on 17a before or was this introduced by this change?

There were 17a profiles before. I'm on an Ikanos connection and am maxed at 70(DL)/30(UL), which I was already on before this change. One thing that I've noticed is that my connection has become less stable. I'm now getting more CRC errors on my line and twice now my Asus (DSL-N66U) router has completely freaked out reporting 100k+ CRC errors and not being able to connect. Rebooting the router doesn't fix it and they only way I could get it working is by doing a factory reset on the router. I've since bought a Draytek DV130 and it's configured in bridge mode connected to a Ubiquiti USG. I just need to figure out how to access the DV130 admin page.

Interesting observation on ddDLM. In my case which I reported in the another thread (see below). When ddDLM first went live on my line, it picked an aggressive profile and bump up both my down and up sync speed. As a result, CRC errors increased significantly. Within 3 day, ddDLM had decided to scale back the sync speed. I now ended up with slightly lower sync speed on down but a significant boost in sync speed on the up when compared to before ddDLM.

I am surprised ddDLM did not adjust your sync speed and cause your modem to fall over due to significant CRC errors.

as of today, it seems all vdsl lines have switched over to ddDLM properly.

I'm seeing movement over a few lines i'm watching so good signs. nothing concert as of yet.

last of the ADSL/VDSL connections seem to have moved profiles too.

So it looks like i am stuck with 7ms latency which is a bugger considering i am maxing out my line.

I am using a Fritzbox 7490 which has the SNR tweak that you can use and slide between Performance and Stable. It is worth turning it down more towards stable or is it something else that causes the latency?

Would be happer with a lower DL/UP speed with the latency dropped.

Currently 100/42
