You have problem with your wifi router. There is nothing wrong with your VDSL connection.

but why would it be max througput on adsl but not vdsl on the same setup

Clearly something in your setup is not the same.

Given only 5ghz is having trouble Ild say your computer is simply in a bad place for reception.

I'm by no means an expert in how well 5ghz travels though.

Given that by cable your line maxed out, you need to.stop trying to blame it on your vdsl.

Well does some body want to enlighten me why the speeds are so out of place....

as ive mentioned before, my computer is 3-4 metres away from my PC, exactly same position it was for ADSL so no reason why its a wi fi issue but now I'm getting almost half the speed that ADSL was getting on 5ghz, and still 2.4ghz is getting the same speeds on VDSL 2.4 its getting about 22 down

if your computer is that close, why even faff around with wireless.

your probably oversaturating in signal.

try playing with your output power and see if it makes a difference then.

i am at the other corner of our place to the modem. that doesnt stop me from cleanly running a cat5e cable from one end to the other.

get some tape, a rug or something of the sorts to cover the cable going through walkways and route it around the edge of the room?

I will in the end but that still leaves the question why my VDSL connection is providing less speed than the ADSL connection on 2 separate computers.

I did forget to mention my friend has a PC next to mine and gets the exact same stats as mine, and it it actually cant be the signal strength being too close ect because I got max througput on the ADSL previously.

but your only having the issue over wireless.

so it is NOT your vdsl's fault. your issue is with your wireless router you are using.

maybe you configured it differently when you swiched to vdsl?

Why the speeds are out of place.
1: Sometimes the modulation of the VDSL can cause it to have limited throughput.
2: Your WiFi environment. I suppose you got a new modem with the VDSL. I bet that handles WiFi differently.
3: WiFi is a convenience technology, It works in the most part and thats what it was designed to do.
4: The WiFi gods dont favor you.

i have a 60mbps VDSL connection, i can only get a max of 38mbps over wireless

its a 130mbps wireless n connection but it wont connect any faster than 65mbps as the devices dont want 6to connect any faster. wifi has about a 40% overhead if there is nothing else connecting. the more devices that connect the slower the connection

if you want a fast connection use an Ethernet cable

exactly this.

doing tests on gfs laptop (2.5ghz) depending on interference that day (we have quite a few elderly folk around, who have routers that come on "auto") ill see 30mbit some days, other days ill max out my full 60mbit sync at the other corner of the house.

how about powerline OP?

Enjoy you excellent VDSL connection, and if wireless is too slow for you, use a cable.
Even the best wireless is slower than cable.
