Couple of years ago when I tried VDSL it proved worse than the ADSL2 connection and unstable regardless of DLM profile/time etc. What I get from being so far from exchange.

Your line attenuation of 28 (receive) and 36 (send) are both very high. However, error rate seems to be OK at < 1 CRC per minute at least for now. Not sure if your line can sustain a sync rate of 27 Mpbs term long term. Best is to do nothing and let ddDLM does its job. From anecdotal evidence, ddDLM seems to be doing a far better job than the old DLM.

Parents VDSL connection still holding steady at 109/50Mbit. Be interesting when the upgrade hits them :)

Plenty of scheduled upgrades over the next while, I have not seen a negative one in ages now.

As for that line, considering it is a near perfect sync.....

Your like is pegged on downstream, Just shy of pegged on upstream with power levels running way low - great for the neighbors, their sheep won't get radiated ;)

Actually @michaelmurfy your line very much interests me.. 100015 was the limit...

Scratch that; 108832, it was increased slightly... Interesting... Wonder who slid that... still 51200 up though.

My connection restarted overnight and now the spectrum looks like Click to see full size. The blue receive band at the right hand side is new, and wondering if this is related to the recent comments about ISAM upgrades.

It's still a 70/30 line because this is an Ikanos card, but the attainable throughput for downstream has jumped from 72 to 113 Mbps; upstream steady at 42. I'm in the Enable LFC area.

Been a few changes here too.

Modem now says it can go faster. I'm limited by my DSLAM. Never thought I'd see that, but I guess it's OK since I can't get fibre because one munt [REDACTED] neighbour declined the right of way consent.

Maxed out lines are great for the end user, and chorus.

on chorus's end that means power level can be reduced on your line causing less crosstalk

on your end, you are pegging out, your getting the best possible service (okay one could argue things like interleaving, that is a totally different topic)

I expect when vectoring comes in we will see this as a far more typical experience.

Hopefully G.INP comes with this.

Indeed. Now who do I need to do things to to get a Broadcom card in the cabinet that feeds my address :)

So, ddDLM had a bit of fun with me this week.

Had a power cut, ADSL line failed. Raised this and got it sorted.

In the mean time, VDSL line pulled back a little as errors on the line were aggressive, few days later it has returned back to normal again.

May have been a slightly delayed reaction from ddDLM but overall, I'm pretty impressed with that outcome.

for those interested in VDSL profile, 4-4ms profile now...

Further to this - there was an 15 minute outage this morning and now connected to a Broadcom card (177.173 according to the Fritz!box). Getting 108/48 Mbps, so happy dances all round.

Have seen this happening around a few places, I suspect it is the buildup for Vectoring - Possibly its the Ikanos cards that need replacing to enable? I have not confirmed which cards currently in play support.

Would not be surprised if your line profile went to a weird almost vectoring state (Visible from our end)
