Your line seems to be stuck in limbo between the two.
17a on your line is no good, for it to preform like 8b does, higher power is required (which is kinda against the standard...) thus more errors are caused.
on a long line, it really should stick to 8b
depends alot on your CPE, Fritzbox for example seems to favour 17a and will shunt my line to 17a every time it plugs in. While my normal NF4V just rolls with what the DSLAM feels is best.
Looks like your connection is also jumping between 6dB and 9dB downstream attributes. This is all ddDLM doing it's work.
I would suspect there is something influencing your line that ddDLM is trying to mitigate.
